Its a good setup of course and i do agree u can never have to much filteation but if u routinely change youre filters at every oil change then the 25 and 7 micron are more than enough if routinely serviced or changed but if u go longer with the fuel filters and dont change them at evey pm then that set up is very beneficiary

I thought the Davco was a water separator system in itself, the ones on my trucks are drained every month.

Just thinking about it, I would use what ever is available, even if Volvo said use one type, it really comes down to costs and availability.

The thing with fuel filters is, if you get a generic 'it will fit' or a 'cheaper brand' you run the risk of effecting the fuel flow rate negatively which can greatly effect your mpg. This is why it's the best practice to stay with OEM filters.

The Davco 25m was lasting about 12k miles and the 50m did roughly the same. The Volvo OEM Filters can changed at 25k which is when I change my bypass oil filter.

You cannot over filter the fuel for a Volvo.
Volvo's are known for being fuelsensitive.
Englishman,i would use the 50-25-7 setup.
