Knight layed off drivers? This is news to me since knight has hired alot of drivers even during the recession. don't know any that got laid off. Some get fired or leave or quit but never have i heard of knight laying off drivers. Yes i drive for knight and with them over 1 1/2 years. Now your info on 1 year is wrong.
Mileage wise i have close to 200,000 miles with knight. Kansas Terminal was never closed anytime i was there and the idaho falls is such a small terminal mainly for the reefers that nobody is ever there anyways.

Didn't read my post?--local drivers in Phoenix! Next time your down there ask around. Since I was on the reefer side Falls was my home terminal! I only mentioned my experience with Knight because of all the posters who lurk for a new poster to appear on the Bad Company forum and right away use terms like 'one post wonders', 'drive by poster' and have never driven for the companies they blindly support. I witnessed many times drivers from different terminals being put in unassigned trucks to sleep while their truck was in the shop---even at Carlisle! This isn't the last thread describing the way Knight operates and won't be the last. BTW, I left Knight with a two week notice and nothing bad on my HireRight/DAC! Anyone who wants to call me a liar to my face just send a PM the next time your in Denver! FIND OUT JERSEY BOY!

I remember when Knight built the place in cali on Hwy 99. They had rooms you could sleep in there. Knight took good care of me most of the time. No Trucking job is perfect all the time...Welcome to Trucking as they say. I messed up my own fault and got canned for it. So went to another Trucking company. Never bashed Knight know why ? It was my fault and I am man enough to say so. I was out of KC worked most of the time in Cali and AZ. Back then there was no forced dispatch.. They were like anyone else..Run your miles and do your job. Been driving 13 yrs now off the road and miss it big time.

What is wrong with sleeping in another unassigned Truck ? Grab your Blanket and pillow and hit the sack dude. A Truck is a Truck and sleep is sleep. I remember back in the day your were lucky to get sleep lol. Look Trucking is what you make it. Do your job run your miles and try not to ##### all the time. If you get a bad run ? Just say that's Tucking. Good runs always come to those who don't ##### or wine all the time. Never hurts to buy your dispatcher a Burger and fries while you're in town. You think his job is easy ? Try and answer the Phone all the time with newbies ######## all the time. Good luck dude.

Former Knight driver here. Tulsa OK lounge door would lock out everyone after 2200. You can't badge in because there is no separation between the bathrooms and the dispatch office. Also El Paso was the same before they renovated the office. Syracuse when it was open was also the same.

How funny would it be if this is about Knight trucking and not Knight transportation?:biggrin_25520:

This is a pretty accurate. The only thing I would add to it is that Knight's business model is geared toward maximizing revenue per mile by concentrating on shorter runs. This is great for their bottom line but for a driver getting paid by the mile it's not so great.

Real funny you show up out of nowhere and lecture someone who has more miles than you could count! Now your first posts are in support of Knight and let it slip your a dispatcher! Knight will take you back and start you as a Squire----they never stop hiring with their turnover! My response was towards mr. 1.5 year trucker who claimed Knight always gave him a motel room when his truck broke down--typical Knight dispatcher, pick and choose out of context what you want to reply to.Go back driving for Knight and see if they are still a non-forced dispatch company---every Knight driver sings this song---'looking for Emptys in All the Wrong Places' . Let one of your own drivers buy you a cheeseburger and fries so you can have the big one--that was very funny!
