A few bad apples are why us drivers put up with it all! I meet a driver for one of the larger carriers and he was going to pick up a truck and deliver the load and get it back to the yard after the driver was busted drunk !
Its zero tolerance in the trucks kids ,not company policy ..its federal ! Its bad now with all the inexperienced drivers and four wheelers out there now ....why would some one push it ? I love my beer at home.

We had a driver who thought he had figured out a way to carry his beer home with him.

He made out a B.O.L. for the beer and stored it in the side box.

The company found it and he pulled out this BOL.

    Technically he could transport it..

The company billed him $420.00 and took it out of his check...

Driving is a very serious business. I don't get why some one take the chances and the risk to bring alcohol beverage and drink it while operating a big Machine such as a Tractor Trailer. When you need to stand before that one person (The Judge) for any accident or traffic violation NOBODY will stand with you, but an expensive lawyer to who you will pay all your saved CPM and the Judge will tell you "you should know better them that, you are a Professional Drive."

Please, if you are one of these irresponsible drives, JUST give up and go do something else.

    That's creative.

Reminds me of a similar story with a lawyer type who went and bought a 50 Ct. box of very expensive stogies. Went so far as to take out a policy on them. A month passes and he proceeds to file a claim with the insurance company for the sum total of all the cigars. He claimed he lost them all, in a series of small fires......

    Zero tolerance is a myth:

He would have been able to get away with it if he had: 1. Kept his mouth shut and not opened the side box, 2. Quoted the above guidance had the beer been discovered in the side box, or 3. transported the beer in the TRAILER instead of the side box.

Yeah the days of taking the shuttle van on beer runs are long gone too , guys and gals get your it together.
If your to lazy to walk to a bar you don't deserve to be drinking anyway.
