Hi,:biggrin_2558::biggrin_25521: I'm now looking at the KKW Lease Purchase I'm wondering if anyone would suggest this? The truck I'm looking at is No Down and $410 a Week plus other fees and cost, They pay $1.02 and half of the Fuel surcharge! So that no one gets their feathers ruffled, I'm just looking at it, I have not signed anything and am thinking that the Plates and the half of the FSC is going to run me off from it. :biggrin_25512:I'd rather a cents per mile or a percentage pay of the load?:yes2557: So give me the good bad and indifferent. Thanks. :yes2557:

That is pretty low if you ask me.... I would always look for a % pay than ppm, therefore you can run less miles and make more money going to places you wanna go for a better pay.
Also if you pay off a truck it should have less miles on it since you won't have to run 120K a year just to live comfortably.... JMO

Why would you only get half of the fuel surcharge? Are they paying for half of the fuel? if not you are getting screwed.

They've advertised in my area for company drivers for years and must have local drivers because I see their daycabs all the time. Recently the ads for L/P have been appearing on CL. In my area they haul alot of mattress loads and the few times I've talked to their drivers they say it is driver unload. So I would find out what you would be hauling as a
    L/P driver.

Like I said in the OP this may be the deal breaker, Why would they keep half of the FSC? I think there must be more to it, if they are paying the plates, I could almost agree to that, But if not I'm not sure that would work real well. Thank You for your reply.

That is a good question and they say $60.00 for a full truck unload as well as stop pay, But how does the runs work out? Short runs for the L/P's and then the longer ones for the Company Drivers? I'm not liking that idea, I almost have myself talked out of it. We will see how it goes, i have to call them on Monday.

Ad on CRAIGSLIST shows no % of fuel surcharge

"$1.02 loaded & empty + fuel surcharge based on the West Coast fuel price, putting more money in your pocket"

Well Sir! FLATBED The paperwork I have that is a contract that is to be signed by me if I want go with this system, states that there is a chart they go by, as far as I can tell it is ABOUT 50% of all FSC to make it simple! The chart says they pay $1.02 for fuel at 2.029 Per Gallon at $4.07.2 TOTAL Paid is $1.32 Per Mile with there should be about a $.43-5 CPM Which I figure in my little head that is about 1/2 of the real FSC... Thanks.

Well Sir! luvtotruck. If you have the Contract with you, isn't every detail outlined in the contract? If not, I wouldn't sign nothing until it's very clear what your signing and all the correct info is outlined in the contract by all party's. It appears to me that's how so many of you drivers are getting screwed in these Lease Purchase programs! Your signing contracts with missing details. I dunno, I never been involved in a Lease/Purchase program and never will. Just saw this thread and chimed in :biggrin_25519:

    Good luck to you.

DUDE!!! You can own a new truck for less than that. Only good things I ever heard even on here of Lease Purchase is Prime. And I'd never do them as you can own for half that. Just save a little for down payment. Hate to see anyone taken advantage of like that. Granted they should make profit but those payments are down right taking advantage of people. GL on whatever you choose. JMO

Not on my Credit! This is for 36 months and then the truck is mine!
I don't think I'm going to Prime anytime soon.
It turns out to be about $55000 for this truck.
That isn't happening anytime soon, my wife and I are pay check to pay check and still not covering it!
Well I guess it is what it is.
I appreciate your post but I'm not sure it will fill in like I want it too. but i tried to pick it apart so I could answer all of the questions or comments. Thanks.
