Yep sure does.My company is far from perfect.I get along with everyone and they do take care of the drivers but the bottom line is customers come first. If I was to decide not to drive for them any longer and gave them a 2 weeks notice, they then could care less about me.I know how the industry works and learned not to trust any companies.

Steve D at http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...erything/169873-otr-pay-poverty-wages-33.html thread, msg #1309, said:

I hope Condo will overlook my copying this over from OTR Pay Poverty Wages (now closed thread). We discussed this over there, the idea/concept of a group that would set quality of hiring and driving standards and educate shippers and the public about the need to end the treatment of drivers, new drivers especially, as second-class citizens, certifiy those that agreed and lived up to these standards and actively discourage use of companies (CR England comes to mind, now Navajo) that do not.

    Them's your marching orders, JustPj...

The forums here are replete with scenarios that never should have happened and nothing much more than handwringing about it. In fact, lots of posters from what I call the cheap seats emerge who relish the insult and attack drivers in a predicament. I can't recall the community stepping forward to help before. Very cool.

Oh and one other thing (or a couple),

Longbow - longbrow - longjohn or whatever the heck your name is SIR, you have done a great deal of harm for Navajo with your posts on here. Just wait till their legal department gets a read of your supposed help for the companies position in all this. Hope you yourself have a good lawyer.

JustPJ, my offer from waaaay back still stands, enough said about that.

And finally, Luvtotruck, I hate to burst your bubble about lawyers. The truth, most (over 80% if my memory serves me correctly) of lawyers actually make the same or less per year on average as an OTR driver makes. And in fact the ones who become successful work double the hours we do as drivers every day of the week 365 days a year.

This trainer hardly had years of experience, as Longbow reported. She's been with the company for 6 months, and I was her first trainee! When she said she was going to just drop me off, I was driving and said adamantly no, we were coming to a small town ahead and I said I would stop at the next motel. At this time we were both yelling and I pulled off the exit as it was becoming unsafe. We barely got there when she reached over and put the brakes on. I was told to get out of the driver's seat, and dispatch was on the line. I made it clear I was not going to get out of the truck until the police got there, and I called 911. As I reported earlier, it was 10:30 at night and about 9 degrees outside. On that call, I requested a DOT officer as well as the WSP, and dispatch was still on the line, listening. After removing my property from the truck to the patrol car, I phoned dispatch and requested they load my card with money for a motel room. Damon refused and said I'd have to get that request ok'd in the morning. In the morning. I asked why he couldn't and he said he wasn't authorized to put the cash on my card. If he was unable to put $100 on my Comdata card, he sure as heck was not authorized to fire me. Thus, I was still an employee of the company, and they had a duty to make sure I did have shelter, not to mention a way home. What would have happened if, say, my smartphone hadn't had a charge??? There was not much traffic up there at that time of night. The consequences are scary even to think about. But heck, I did use bad language, so I really should just shut up and lie in the bed I've made for myself. Right, Navajo? Longbow? Who are you people??

I have a feeling there's a new member to TTR acting as a voice for Navajo who has just a little too much information. By spewing all that here on an open forum their going to get a really tough education about HIPAA.

No offense and not speaking for JustPJ here but you have no idea how many lawyers you interact with on a daily basis that gave up on the dream of a full partnership at a prestigious firm and went on to do something that does actually pay the student loans which has nothing to do with being a lawyer.
