I want to say something about CHRobinson. Yes, they don't pay too much, unless, they need to keep the load moving, which happens once in a million years. But, I want to say something that is true about them.
1. They never screw you. I mean, if they have the load, they actually have the load. Unless something happens, that is not up to them.
2. They give you the proper information. Even the weight is always- for ex. 32,436 lbs. And it happens to be true all the time. The timing for pick up and delivery is always right. I haven't had any problems with the timing.
3. You know that you will get paid. But the only thing about the payment, it might take longer than 2 days for quickpay.
4. If they gave you the load, they will not give the same load to someone else, who is ready to do it for $50 less.
5. I like their website. It is simple, and really nice.
And, thank you CHRobinson. And give me more money so I can do more loads with you! -
I agree 100%. Under a load for them now. In the last 2 or 3 weeks I probably emailed or called on 5-8 loads a day of theirs, which the rates were just too low, so no can do. The last load I did for them that paid well was from the same branch office and shipper. Of course I checked on rates for those loads daily. Took a while but I got another good one. That's how you get into their good paying freight - patience & perseverance.

LLi Linehaul, Toronto, Ontario.
Moved 3-4 loads for them over the period of approx 1 month. Was given rate confirmation and dispatched on the final (over width) for load for the customer and told to order permits. Canceled load 4 pm day before PU. No TONU. No permit money reimbursed in spite of many attempts. I asked for $400 to over TONU and permits. Rec'd zero.
Landstar Ranger - Agent ISO:
Ceva brokered double brokered this load to LS and LS-ISO contracted me as a LS approved carrier. My truck arrived at Canadian Customs and customs paperwork was not ready....customs broker (Ceva) would not release shipment due to taxes not paid. Customer said they didn't have to pay tax. Waited approx 6 hours. LS - ISO refused to give new rate agreement for detention. I said I would not deliver until I rec'd rate agreement. Agent told me I was holding freight hostage. Spoke to Jacksonville.....they said they reviewed the situation and determined that I was not at fault. I was given revised rate confirmation and told I would not be listed as "unapproved". I delivered on time.
Jacksonville listed me as unapproved contrary to our agreement on the phone. I called for an explanation. They denied saying that I would still be approved carrier. They said I was listed as unapproved because I held a load hostage. I reminded them that I delivered on time. They said you are listed as unapproved because "you threatened to hold a load hostage". They also said that by paying me the detention LS will lose money on the load and if LS loses money the carrier automatically becomes unapproved. I invoiced them for $1475, of which I have rec'd zero.
Bennett Motor Express:
Picked up two loads 14'-2" wide with a Friday afternoon crane appointment at delivery. Trucks got within 50 miles of delivery and would have made the appointment when shipper's traffic manager calls to cancel delivery citing that we will not make appointment. I say trucks will be on time. They say too late crane is leaving you will have to deliver next week. I say that I will not deliver until I am reimbursed for pilot cars, police escorts, extra mileage and time in writing from Bennett. Shipper threatens me with theft. Bennett refuses to issue new rate agreement and refuses to answer phone calls. I call job site and speak to foreman. He says the job site is not ready and we have no room to put your freight until Tuesday next week at earliest. Now I understand Bennett and shipper are using my trucks as a free warehouse by blaming me for late delivery. Monday afternoon I get the call from Bennett wanting me to deliver Tuesday AM. They provide revised rate sheet. Rec'd all that was agreed to....approx $15,000 IIRC.
Dino Genise, sole prop operating as Gen-Link, Toronto, ON:
Just flat out never paid me my $1300. Went out of "business". I hired a paralegal and the court awarded me a judgement against him for some of the $1300 but now I have to pursue further legal action to get the court to either seize his assets, garnish his wages or put a lein on his house. More money.
Mallard Transportation, NB, Canada:
Refused to pay detention or TONU.
SC Transport, QC, Canada:
Pulled a bait and switch. Booked load with them on a Friday for X dollars. Monday AM he called me to say the load is canceled but he can offer me a similar load for less money. No TONU because he offered me another load. Already dispatched truck so I took it like he knew I would. And then he took 5 months to pay.Last edited: Dec 3, 2013

Blue Grace Logistics is the worst. I refuse to pay them for a load they took for me. They ended up dropping the load after pick up and I was stuck paying a VERY high invoice to Central Trans to release my load. They are still trying to get me to pay them. It was double what I would've paid to Blue Grace. Dirty business...

still not paying to us, already 70 days
they are real evil -
NCTL in Hialeah, Florida.. These guys sent me on a load, then after picking up tell me my BOL are not good that they need to fax me some new ones. The new BOL
quantities are different and then when the receiver complains that its short ( because the bol are different) they don't want to pay the truck because they might not get paid.. Then after submitting my paper work for quick pay they spent over a week telling me they can not pay me until they get a release. Finally on the second week they tell me on a Friday to go get my check monday, because they got the release. I decided to wait till thursday which was after the holidays and when i arrive they tell me to come back friday for my check, because they were waiting for a release. I said you got the release last Friday, the owner replies verbally, i need it in writing because im not taking a loss... I finally get my check and they deducted a quick pay fee..
