The roads between Provo, UT and Gallup are clean and dry for the most part. A few dark shadow spots where the morning sun hadn't cleared the mountain...but no ice or snow to worry about. My 2nd pickup went almost as quick as the first. Was done in 30 minutes. I put myself on Saturdays board since the truck has to go in for a pm and a few other things...that'll give me time to pick a loaner.
I'm guessing that even though there are new trucks on the lot, we won't see them on the road until after the new year so they won't have to pay for this years permits just for a few weeks.
Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

I finally got a warm enough day to wash the west coast crud off my truck... Amarillo has 2 Streaken Beacons...and both had more than an hour wait. Since I won't feel like going to Dallas after Farmers Branch tomorrow and I am going into the shop once back to the yard...I waited. Well worth it though...I forgot there was a red truck under that white layer of smootz. Talked to a driver that said Dallas is still having an issue with the bridges refreezing over night. With "W" living up in that general area now, I figured the Gov would come out personally and see to it the roads were clear.

Bah. Managed to knock my Aurora load off and as expected got a baking soda load out of Parachute, CO. Would have been pretty nice but it delivers Monday and couldn't get a 900 so stuck with it unless I can get the apt. changed to Tuesday and someone can shuttle it then. Also the return trip over the mountain is pretty screwed now with construction going on at the last tunnel, came back through around 2200 and still took over 1.5 hours to get through back up.

I took a peek at the new trucks from the outside. A little different. 1 big battery box...a new aero grill on the no-idle a/c...and....it does appear that there is a bit more storage. I asked Tony if I was allowed to open it and carefully peek inside...he said it depends on who's watching and to be sure to lock it back up...
Update....update...news flash. Yes...they do have more storage. The wrap around over the seats is now usable. The cubbys over the cb...usable. dual cabinets in sleeper (not as many as the Crete trucks...but more than we have now) and...dual air ride seats....and I see a normal 2 outlet house style 120 volt a/c plug over by the tv shelf...Last edited: Dec 13, 2013
