an HDMI is best assuming the tv and DVD player have hdmi ports. You probably want to buy a bluray player, not DVD. DVD's are kinda old school.
If no HDMI ports, s-video for the video and component for the audio would be ok. -
At least a 300 watt inverter and a HDMI cable, the longer the better.
-
Depends on the player and TV. I use my PlayStation and it is regular component cables hooked to that. But an inverter is needed also. If no inverter is installed a 450w DC plug in one works fine. I used to use that until I got a built in inverter.
snowwy Thanks this. -
IF he has a laptop with HDMI out and assuming he has a TV with HDMI in (If less then a few years old it probably does) then he only needs the laptop and an HDMI cable running from Laptop to TV then he can play the DVD thru the laptop, to the TV (as a monitor). Otherwise, a newer DVD player and a newer TV, you'll only need an HDMI cable between the two.
-
like mentioned above, first ya need to know what inputs the TV has unless you're gonna buy every connection possible... coaxial, a/v, hdmi...
-
hooking up a dvd to a tv in a truck, is no different then being in a house. except for the add of an invertor.
-
If they are very new units then HDMI is the only way to go over the now defunct RCA cables, component and optical cable for audio. In fact many of the newer TVs and DVD machines don't bother with the inputs like S-video as that is dead and gone.
I agree with one of the previous writes. You are better off buying Blu-ray these days over a reg DVD. Bluray will play both anyway,
I only use HDMI on all my systems at home and on the truck. But if you have an older TV you may have to compromise and use RCA.
Good luck. -
Thank you all for the great info you all have given me!! Drive safe
