You want somebody to steer it for you also?
You really need to learn how to do manual stick.. Auto's are for wimps unless you are driving a prime mover, if you need to ask what's that. Work your way up.....truckinmike1984, joseph1135, Moon_beam and 12 others Thank this. -
In a big truck I would NOT want a auto! My choice what gear based on load weight, hills, conditions etc.
road_runner and Drac1985 Thank this. -
My Advice, go drive a School Bus.

There are several companies with autos. USX. USA truck, Mavrick, trans am etc.
Its a good idea to learn the basics of shifting though to keep your options open. In most states if you test in an auto, you will only be aloud to drive auto. Autos are getting a lot better then they used to, but if you never learn to drive manual you will get made fun of and have less options in future. -
U got to scratch some gears before you can go to all auto !!!

Driving auto is not driving in my estimation. It's the easy way out. You've got to drive a manual to get the real feel of a truck, and attain the skills needed. I'm not interested in driving auto even though some people think we should. And that manual is out dated. Well in that case I'm old fashioned.
Warren Earp, BiggDaddy, Drac1985 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Until such time as the entire truckload industry is auto (I don't see that happening anytime soon), you will be severely limited in employment options later as you gan experience and start looking for better freight, money, etc if you're confined to carriers who are exclusively auto.

Why do you only want to drive auto? Is it a matter of a disability?
