Hey SSB, I picked up in LaGrange last night and made it to Waller tonight. I haven't heard from BackHaul yet but hoping I get a Pol-Tex back to GP. I don't feel that step closer to home until I get to GP. Anyways, I have been to that paper place(Mead Westvaco) a couple of times now. I'm surprised you never went there with Crete. It's a nice drop and hook with Crete. Not so lucky with us Poly folks. We are a FCFS live load. Place can get busy. Best to have your trailer swept out nice and clean before arriving but if not they have a place you'll have to do it. Like most they will inspect your trailer pretty close once you arrive. You'll check in with a guard upon arrival. Then you'll have to go to the trailer sweep and inspection. Once trailer is approved you'll have to pull over by a long fence with lots of truck traffic. Then you park and go check in with the shipping office. Once checked in they will tell you to get in any open dock from like 5 to 11. If one is open you're already off to a good start. Once in a dock you must drop, chock and pull out in front of your dropped trailer. Then you go back into the shipping entrance where you'll have to use a phone to call a dock person and tell them which dock you're in. Then go back to the truck and wait for a green light. Once green light is given you go sign for your Bills and head to the security gate. Security has to seal you up and then you're on your way. I can't tell you anything about the delivery place. My loads out of there were like pick up on Thursday and deliver Monday so I got them to do a 900 to the yard. Hope that helps. Good luck with it and hope you get rolling home like you want. Take care out there.![]()

Barry called me after 5 pm with this load. I guess the other driver had an unacceptable trailer. When I heard his voice I was expecting Pol-Tex.
This place sounded kinda familiar, like I'd been there with Crete...but it was a looooooooong time ago. I just will be playing w/my 14, I have an 18:30 appt delivery. I didn't want to start too late, fight the morning rush in Houston and then have them take all day but also didn't want to beat the rush hour, get loaded quick but then get to the receiver and have them take all day and run out of my 14 15 minutes away from the yard. I've had the Mead in Raphine take 6-8 hours to get you loaded. I was just hoping that this location was a bit more friendly....being in TX.Last edited: Dec 19, 2013

Well, this Mead is as confused as Raphine. Get to the plant, they're repaving the driveway. Wait my turn to get by the construction, check in with guard...he says I'm at the wrong place (even though I am where I was told to pick up). He gives me a map to the warehouse which is on the opposite side of the mill. I get to the warehouse and the lady says you're at the wrong place, you're load is at the mill(a Texas version of who's on first, only not as funny). She prints me a copy of the email that the guard and shipping office didn't read, then I go back. After waiting in line to get in the driveway again...I finally get in, check in, go through all the procedures to back in and now I wait. 3rd truck here...and nobody is doing anything so far.
I have an outbound load. I pick up Sunday and deliver Tuesday morning in W. Palm Beach, and they have already authorized me to roll home from there. Gota love this place!jdrentzjr Thanks this. -
Well back in internet land here at Johnson's Corner. Had a beautiful ride across the northern frontier of Arizona and up into Hurricane, UT. Got a back haul picking up two places around SLC and rolling back to Farmer's Branch. Got a load heading through home for Christmas and delivering to Sam's in Hagerstown on Friday morning. So much for the 13 days off I had planned
Finally got the wife to agree to move to Vegas so hopefully that will create a lot more opportunity to get home.jdrentzjr Thanks this. -

Just thought I'd pop in here and say that it's nice to see all the former Creatins doing well at Poly.
LilRobWayne and supersnackbar Thank this. -
Sounds like you might just beat Santa home. Good luck with your travels and take care out there!supersnackbar Thanks this. -
I also had one of those trucks with the funky clutch last time. Trying to back into a tight spot nice and easy...then wham...the clutch dumps all by itself. It was almost like the release bearing was going. Hope the replacement loaner Internationals are better, at least for a little while.
Have a great ChristmasLast edited: Dec 19, 2013

I too would like to wish all my new Poly family drivers a very Merry Christmas, and may we all have a Happy and prosperous New Year.
And a big Thank You to all those who's advice and reassurance has made my transition to Poly easier.jdrentzjr and LilRobWayne Thank this. -
I did finally make it out of Evadale. Got there at 10...finally loaded and gone before 1400. Since it is 288 miles...most of it back roads...I ended up having the broker call and get me 30 extra minutes on my appointment. No biggie...the guy unloading right before me had the same issue. I have exactly 1 and 1/2 hours to get 11 rolls of paper unloaded and get 15 miles to the yard.
LilRobWayne Thanks this.
