Why did Con-way do away with their 5000 mile guarantee for teams?

It was just a scam or scheme any way driver. If you only got 4000 miles they paid you for 5000, but then the next week if you got 6500 they only paid you for 5500 to get their money back. or this is how the recruiter explained it to me when my wife and i applied. Anyway cant say currently but i think their teams do okay without it. Of course this time of year in this weather.................

    More reason to consider W&S.

    I don't trust bait & switch scams.

Why was an attempt at pay stabilization a scam? If you were averaging over 5000 miles a week but then had a bad week or a breakdown, you could rob Peter a little to pay Paul. All the details were up front so I don't see how this was a scam or con. If you were not getting that 5000 average then it would not be a smart choice to take but at least it was an option. Maybe they got rid of it because it was not popular and folks were not using it. Maybe folks were not getting the 5000 average. Why the rush to cynicism?

I dont think it qualifies as bait and switch... I have considered W&S but they don't return phone calls...

Many of those "too good to be true" are just that. Many trucking companies offer pay packages that are unattainable if you check the fine print. For example, a driver this week applied for a job that offered $6K sign on bonus. The problem is there are so many hoops to jump through it's practically impossible to qualify and he was told he "might" get $1K. Some ads say something like "1000.00 a week on this dedicated account and home weekends and some through the week." When you apply or take the job, you find out the position is currently filled so you will be OTR and will be notified when an opening is available for the job you applied for.
