Because I don't like it here. I want something better. I know many ltlers that left for Wal-Mart and love it.

Just wondered. Don't Abf employees make about .15 cents a mile more than Walmart drivers and do less work. Not to mention free benefits and go home every day or at least stay in a motel and get $24 an hour while waiting after the 10th hour. I'm told abf drivers get $23 for hooking each set. Paid $20 for fueling and off on holidays and weekends

You have some of that right, but not all, but close. And you Can't compare the dollars and cents of how we're paid. I made 81k for 2013. Wal-Mart drivers make about the same for the same amount of work and time off.

There's a lot more to me wanting to leave. The union contracts just keep getting worst, operational changes at the company aren't making it easier.

I've done my research, and Wal-Mart would be a better fit for my family and I.

Sure we're home everyday or every other day, but thats not saying much. I get home, have to sleep fast then return in 10 hours. Work 6 to 7 days a week. I'd rather work 5-2 every week..

Don't get me wrong, all in all it's not a bad deal. But Wal-Mart is about the only job I would leave this company for.

The individuals who talk poop are the ones who were denied. They will only hire individuals with the experience and good moral, character and present themselves as professionals. In return you will treated with same respect and that in itself is something you cant put a price tag on my friends!

I've got some stuff to work through but my plan was to apply for Tobyhanna or Pottsville DCs then transfer to Tx, Ok or Ar. Anywhere but the stinking northeast!

I'll agree. Unions are not what they used to be. Ain't no telling what's going to happen with yrc if this new contract don't go through. They may have umpteen thousand psst off employees with another %15 pay reduction or if they call their bluff and vote no and see what happens. From what I hear that's the way the majority is aiming. Walmart might have more applications than they can handle in February if yrc ain't bluffing.

That's a good plan. Seems like Pottsville is always hiring.

Tobyhanna is hiring too. When I applied in April they needed 14 drivers, they still need 8 more out of that 14. Anyone who meets the qualifications and has a clean record can get into Pottsville or Tobyhanna.
