Just make sure they don't steal your escrow money for when you turn the truck in like they did me, even after giving two weeks notice instead of just bolting (the terminal is near my house, wouldn't have been an issue. Lied about cleaning out the truck (I did that) then had the nerve to charge me. I had pictures and they still refused. Crete, from my perspective, is a thieving company that should be avoided.

I will point out that this was the Marietta terminal. Also had an incident with that receptionist lady calling my EMERGENCY number to track me down to scan some paperwork. That was the final straw, and I let her have it. Every bit of it. You do NOT call my emergency number just to get some bills scanned. Constant screw up by dispatch, constant screw ups by customer putting the wrong product on the trailer (happened 3 times in my 4 months there). This makes you sit for hours until the next morning, call OSD, then sit for 2 more hours waiting on them to tell you take it to a Salvation army 15 miles away. You ask what the compensation will be for the SIGNIFICANT amount of time that was wasted due to no fault of your own? Mileage pay. That's right. .38 times 15. That's my pay for over 12 hours of sitting because someone idiot at the shipper screwed up.

They also have very old technology. My Qualcomm wasn't even color screen and was very difficult to use. Was put on paper logs, and let me tell you in advance: TELL THEM TO GIVE YOU E LOGS! THERE IS ZERO BENEFIT TO PAPER LOGS AT CRETE :biggrin_25516:. They track you just like an elog does anyway, even 5 mins over. You may as well just have the #### thing in the truck. They also have some stupid ### points system that gives you points for things like forgetting to scan your logs in. Too many points, you get fired. That's right. You also get points for accidents that weren't even your fault. Crete is heavily into babysitting and their trucks are ridiculously slow.

...and then there's that crappy ### battery powered APU they have on their trucks. Com-plete-crap.

Upside; if you can get miles, the mileage pay is good. IF you can get miles. :yes2557:

Not trashing Crete at all, but I believe there should be more to this thread than pink ponies and rainbows. Keep in mind, this is the sort of thread a recruiter would post in, and they have every reason to lie. Hey, so do I. I could be a vindictive, bitter ex-driver, but I'm not. I'm simply giving my take on things that actually happened. If they didn't happen to you, great! However as my negative experience doesn't represent you, your positive one does not represent me, so save the fanboy attacks please.

I wish all shippers were like this one in Emporia, KS. 45 minutes from check in to sealing 'er up! The dude came out and got me to come sign the paperwork b4 the green light came on "just to speed things up" he said. :biggrin_255:

I even got my favorite parking spot in Troy, IL where my DISH sat works the best.

I did get a message from my terminal that they were pleased with my miles last year, BUT it didn't have my name on it, so it went to every truck in the terminal.
After I delivered on the 16th, I got a 425 mile load with no delivery time, as I'm getting loaded, I get the delivery appt. and it's on the 21st. Tcall at Fontana and grab an empty, now they're out of freight for the day.
Now I get a message "only one load tomorrow" and a 1400 mile preplan with no delivery appt. I refuse it 3 times before they offer me this load, picks up earlier than the other one and goes to Orlando for the 22nd. 2423 miles, YEAH!!! But, I'll be back running Georgia regional :(
Picked up at a small place in El Cajon, Live load, I'm in and out in 40 minutes and he loaded it to the back door, great place. Plus I-8 is awesome with a lighter load.

That's actually really good since the OTR truckload industry turnover rate is 99%.

How hard is the physical at CCC....do you have to do some insane stress test ?...bench 250 lbs ...etc ?

Also and old internet friend of mine worked thee for 5 years,,,,he quit due to Tonn and his politics...

...can one of you give an over view of the CCC daily atmosphere ?

    Are they knuckleheads...

...As an example...where I work ...the people net beeps with a load...and once u confirm ur loaded...you won't talk to them for 4 or 5 days until you're a the final.

Sort of like a submarine...it's silent running.

    Speak about CCC please

Crete has most of the same issues as the other megas but the base cpm is higher. Average load is only mid 600s. I am leaving for a 400 truck long haul company. I did not have the luxury of a seasoned AM /Dispatcher. Physical is moderate. Safety and Logs strict. Sleep Apnea testing pushed on most of the overweight folks.
Unfortunately, all the megas have modeled there business model to the short/medium haul loads. More profitable for company and more work for drivers.

    Mev Thanks this.
