That is a glider kit truck. CAT quit manufacturing on highway engines and the last serial numbers started with SDP or SPD (can't remember which it was). The prefixes the last few years went from BXS to MXS to NXS then to SPD (or whatever). Also you can tell it is a glider due to the fact there is no exhaust after treatment system.

I would not be surprised if cat one day gets back in the game. Construction equipment now needs to have emissions systems nowadays, so if they have to make it for there offroad equipment they might as well start selling truck motors again. Just a thought.

What about the cat ct660 trucks they have cat motors in them. They must be able to meet emissions standards.

I said it before, their engines aren't cat. Those are Navistar engines. CAT CT11 is maxxforce 11. CAT CT13 is the same as Maxxforce 13. CAT CT15 is the same as Maxxforce 15 (poorest version of C-15 acert). They have dpf on it. Soon will be with scr.

They stopped producing CAT CT15. Since navistar no longer sells cat ct15, they replaced it with Cummins ISX15.

As far as I'm concerned. Cat, and diesel engines in general, were stopped being made in 2006. Some found their ways into 2007 model year vehicles, but that's as new as I'd want to go.

CAT stopped making on-highway engines (Acert dpf) in 2010, after they told that they won't do the EPA2010 standards.
