"Wrapped up in their image"....That hurts....I like chrome...and lights...and straights....and hot rods....Naw your better off taking advice from somebody whose not into all that because the guys who are into all that"image" crap probably don't work on their own trucks or worry about the resale later on or have any class.lmao

I wasn't aware of that.I've never kept up with anything Volvo related though. Thanks

Volvo now owns Mack and I heard their new engine is related to the D16. I love and am a big fan of Volvos for safety. If you find me a truck a that is safer than a Volvo, please inform me. The only downside is their electrical issues and non-removable cabs you find on Paccar products.

Just curious, where did you get your safety info from?Hopefully not from Volvo's website.

Only Volvo trucks in North America have HRS airbag in steering wheel.:biggrin_25522:Also in frontal collision engine slide under cab,not into like all other brands, especially classics.:biggrin_2558:

No offense but that still doesn't tell me where you got your safety stats that say the Volvo is the safest truck out there.New VW Beatles have airbags in the steering wheels but I'd still rather get hit head on in my Dually than the beatle.I don't buy into the Volvo being the safest. If the wiring catches on fire while you're driving down the road or one of those plastic shelf doors fall off and bean you then that airbag does very little to help you too.:biggrin_25512:

Guys Volvo's are the safest trucks on the road. If I am wrong prove it to me. All I know is that my survey showed that KW, Freightliner, Pete, and Western Star driver would rather drive a Volvo for their safety, and fuel economy. The elctrical problems will get solved like any other bug in the system.

I am a big fan of a Pete's and KW's but if I were to get my license right now and lease on a Volvo would be on order or a Pete 386. The Volvo would be looked at first as Insurance companies will guarantee you full replacement value. I looked into this already.

King on this site you gotta post proof. When it comes to suspect claims like these we ALL are from the "show me state".

I've been in side the Volvos and while they may have features my KW does not have I'll never trade a KW for a volvo. I don't know any other KW guy that would. My neighbor is a die hard Western Star guy. Its so bad that when he goes to buy a truck he will not look at any other brand besides the Star.

Please post the proof of your claims that all of us non Volvo drivers want to drive one.

    Proof that they are safer.

And proof of the insurance thing.

Until you have actually driven one long enough to form an opinion you'll get laughed at posting what you think you would do. I'm not trying to laugh too hard or run you off, just sayin.............. thats all.
