"PENNINGTON, N.J. (CBS) Police in New Jersey are investigating a freak accident that killed the driver of a tractor-trailer Tuesday morning.
The tragic accident happened on Route 31 at West Delaware Avenue in Pennington, Mercer County.
According to investigators, a flat-bed tractor-trailer was hauling long beams of structural steel when the weight shifted, sending the beams into the cab of the tractor-trailer. Authorities say the driver of the tractor-trailer was struck by the steel and was killed.
The identity of the driver was not immediately released.
Route 31 was shut down for some time as police investigated the incident.
The deadly accident remains under investigation."

Oooh, ouch. Not good.
I've often wondered on this one - would a headache rack minimize this? Or is this a constant danger with these loads?

The comments from NEWS SITE are not valid as anyone can post on there from anywhere , sad thing to happen but the potential is there when they skimp on securing their loads .

Front of the hood is covered with a tarp, I am sure part of the driver is under that tarp.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
Although not as effective as having one on the trailer as it allows the load to gain some momentum if it shifts, a rack on the tracker would have helped and probably prevented the drivers death.OldHasBeen, Chinatown and blairandgretchen Thank this.
