How many other mavericks get denied detention lately because of weather. I thought that was detention I got there they were open would not unload to muck ice so come back tomorrow seems a day of detention to me but not maverick because they now say they don't pay detention caused by weather. They got me again I guess

Maybe for the poor trucker, but if they closed the corporate office for the weather, then I lay odds all of them at corporate are paid.

These carriers dont care...the brokers dont care...The shippers/receivers dont care...Nobody Cares

See..Steve Bell said it best.......Until their is SOLID representation on behalf of OTR drivers..Nothing will ever change....

You,The driver are nothing more than revenue enhancement for OTHERS..I repeat...... 'OTHERS' in the industry

Now.....You are a FREE warehouse on wheels until you can unload

Sickening to say the least,,,,,,,,,But us Drivers are our own worst enemies.....And if you think OOIDA is any form of solid representation.....:biggrin_25523:

Other than what I just read about detention pay, how are they overall? Would they be a recommendable company to work for?

Some companies do have what they call snow pay, or weather pay. I assume weather would include hurricane or tornadoes. I would be interested what would happen in case of volcano like Mt St Helens.

I've never dealt with them, the broker maverick, the woman there was such a lovely person, I wound up paying the guys at the port over at dundalk 450.00 to unload my trailer and was happy to do so. In the end found a better paying load.
