To the User that reported seeing an issue when doing a POI search along "My Route". I can duplicate now. RM is in the testing phase of verifying the fix. If the fix fixes the issue, then Rand will release in the next update. That I cannot say when it will be.

    Thanks,
    mark

    Hi Mark,

TND 720 is absolute junk in NJ. They really need to update the maps especially in the newark area. It once told me to go through the airport. Also NY near that area is bad.

also, they should develop software that knows your on the highway if the gps is in accurate. There are a few times when on a highway, the gps position or road position was wrong and it kept re calculating from city streets. If im going 65 perpendicular tot he city streets parallel to the highway it should figure out im not on the city streets and take a guess at where to put me on the high way. Also, if going the wrong direction on a highway, (do to construction) it should not keep recalculating going in the proper direction. its obvious I;m not going the other direction even if i am on the wrong side of the road. it know what direction im going, it should figure out im not stupid enough to go the wrong way on a highways and i'm not gonna pull a u turn on an 8 lane highway.

It also doesnt now you can cross the median at all the Carlisle, pa truck stops on rt 11 (off of 81). It thinks you need to go 5 miles and make a u turn when you can simply just turn left in.

lastly, the software refuses to open on my computer. I called rand mc about it and they cant figure it out. Un installed re installed, no luck. This means i can no longer update. (although my current maps are only 3 months old.)

Could you give me some locations? It is hard to try to guess where you were.

If you are going the wrong way, then yes the GPS senses you are going the wrong way. It does not have build in logic that "assumes" you know what direction you are going based upon construction. It does know you are going the wrong way to your destination and will try to get you turned around.

Crossing the median is actually the map database not knowing there is an crossing. This has been broken down in prior posts in other area's ..

What do you have set for your route settings?

As far as your computer, do you have any type of Anti-Virus software running? You either have to tell your software to mark it as "safe" or disable it for the time frame you are updating.

It could also be other software you have installed. I can remote into your computer if you wish to look at it. PM me on this.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Just got it to update by creating a whole new user account and installing the dock on there. I think there is some old version of the dock that wont completely uninstall for some reason. For route settings i have my truck listed as 13'6 with a 53 trailer and 80,000 pounds. I almost always use fastest allowing everything.

As for the median, Can they update rt 11 in Carlisle pa? There is a median but all the truck stops there have crossovers. That would be a spot where the map needs updating. It always throws the eta off by about 30 min since it thinks you will be in slow traffic for that area.

As for gueesin where i am....there are a few places all across the us. I dont remember specifics, but i know KS is pretty bad. Speakign of KS, there is a bridge rated for 36tons that rand mc thinks can support 40 tons. I forgot where but its on the way from ia to KS.

Ok the new updates are AMAZING....the new ability to compare routes is sweet. The fuel prices on route is even better. I'm constantly calling 20+ truckstops on route to find cheapest fuel. Now it does it for me.

Ill have to see if the new updates fixed some of the navigation ishues, but so far im impressed. I would how ever like if you could set the speed 10 mph over AND set a max speed, not or. I'd like to know if i hit 75 mph, regardless of speed limit. It would be nice if that was a different warning to. Give me the normal warning for going over the speedlimi but if i got over 75 in an zone that has a limit if 75 it tells me i exceeded the max speed.

Are there any number on how much data the traffic and weather eats? I would get the traffic and use the weather if i knew it wouldn't KILL my data plan. It just warns that im responsible for data, but doesn't give nay rough estimates for how much.
