    Last week's net $600. Week before $700.

$65K a year per the YRC web site claim? That's funny - really funny.

Thanks to the union way of doing things, drivers with more seniority than me make two trips to my zero trips.
If a driver with more seniority becomes available before I get a load, then he gets the load and I sit home.
Today is the second time since 1/1/14 that every driver in my bid has gone out twice (two work days) while i sit home and make $0.
Can't do it anymore. I have as many bills as those with 20 years seniority. I can't starve for their sake.

If I'm going to starve, it might as well be in a late model truck, as opposed to the well worn out
of over a million miles tractors that YRC runs. In ten months time on separate occasions - two maxi brake cans fell off the trailer axles.
    Nice.

    Signed,
    Soon to be gone.

So you only been with YRC for two weeks and you're crying about $650 net average?

You're new, all new guys start off at the bottom, and struggle at first.
You can't live off $650 net a week?

If you don't run, do they still deduct those union dues:biggrin_2559:

This is how it is at an ltl company. Every driver has been through the same thing you're going through. My first two winters were rough, but I made it work. This is life in the winter at ltl, just keep your head up spring is right around the corner.

January and February are the 2 slowest months of the year.

plus you are only at 70% pay which will go up every 6 months .

    hog board sucks.

they didn't hire you because they don't need you. because they only have a 3% turnover compared to the rest of the industry's 90+%

    have patience grasshopper

You could always leave them go to one of the bottom feeder companies and be lucky to make $1300 a month. Like everyone is telling you be patient.

wow...$600-$700 take home a week for a part time job. Brother, there's A LOT of people on this board who are gone from their home and families for 2-4 weeks at a time who don't make that much.

You might have come to the wrong place to whine and you might also want to count your blessings.

Three years in the industry, you should be so luck as to get a Union job. If you have never had one you don't know enough about a Union Job to pass judgement. With 32 years in the Teamsters Union I retired at age 54 with a $36 K a year pension. Now with social security any another 19K and a part time driving job 20 K it is a decent living.
I hope at some point you are as blessed as I am.
