but have YOU thrown in the towel and accepted it?

the elog problem is not government mandating it
    its not companies getting it
the problem is drivers accepting it

elogs motivated me to get my own truck

I wouldn't have gone there, if I wasn't told "WHAT EVER", Being on E-log doesn't bother me all that much, but! it does state right in the E-log guide that must be kept in the truck, what you must do in case of a failure, what I was saying, is, when the E-log, failed, the driver should have stopped, and started running on paper to be legal, If he would have kept a ledger on what he did every day, there would have been no reason to call anyone, And yes, the paper wont match the E-log, but? just read up on this in the guide, lots of drivers today rely to much on the company and that when trouble happens, It's your license! protect it, most companies know drivers can be replaced pretty quickly, Like the old saying goes! "A DIME A DOZEN", We need more drivers and less steering wheel holders out here, No one going to protect your license but you, Last I heard, Landstar was giving their O/O the option to go to E-log, did they force all to go to this now? if not, Why would you chose to?

Thats what my point is too, That why I said if the driver would have kept up on what he did every day, not rely on the company, he could have avoided this hole problem

Well hand while I may completely agree with you as far as the log goes, treating each other like that is going to do nothing but turn this into an online version of sitting on the CB at the truck stop.

To mc854, since you havent used elogs, you should at least know how they work before you comment. The one I have from landstar doesnt store logs in the unit. I have to contact qualcomm or landstar logs for past logs.
