Ok that helps out some. First of all try to get your record expunged. It's different for every state but usually after 10 years past the date that everything was done including probation, parole, time served you can get an expungement. It also depends on the crime. Some can not be expunged. I just recently had mine expunged. I had a felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge, burglary and a paraphernalia misdomenor. The back story is that I got in a fight over a girl at the other guys house and I had a ratchet with me. The charges sound a lot worse than what really happened. But my point is that it's all completely gone off my record now. I have had background checks and they all come up squeaky clean. The court told me that I'm allowed to say on an application that I never had a record. So that's what I do. And you don't even need a lawyer to do it. All the information you need to do it is online. I think it cost me around $100. It does take a little while so I suggest starting as soon as possible.

Don't worry about the parking tickets. They won't matter.

As far as the new license that might be an issue. If you have tried training companies and they won't take you then it might be hard. If I were you I would work on an expungement. That will take some time. Make sure you have a steady job the whole time and after you have had your license a year you will be good to go. Felony or not. There are companies that will hire you. But you will have a lot better choice if you can get all that off your record. There are people on here that have got jobs with a lot worse. You will be good to go. The only bad part is that you may have wasted your money taking your endorsement tests because it will probably take some time to find someone that will train you to get your license. Unless you have the money for school now or know someone that will let you use their truck to take the test. Companies will want you to go to some kind of school. Weather it be theirs or a private school. Another warning is that if you go to a private school companies will only accept that for 90 days. So get pre hires from companies before you go to any school.

I just realized that you are only on year 9 as far as your conviction goes. As long as you were not on parole after. Then the 10 years would go from the end of that. But you can still get a job with a felony. I'm thinking next year is going to be a good year for you to get into trucking. Next year you can expunge your record, you will have a license for a year and hopefully save up some money to go to a private school and then you will have the trucking industry by the bal#s. Patients is a virtue. It can make things come together a lot smother for you. I'm not saying it can't happen now if you want it bad enough. But keep your nose clean and next year it can definitely happen. Without much work or worry

Georgia has the Hope Grant that pays for CDL school from lottery proceeds. The unemployment office may have other programs. Community college programs are very cheap and very good CDL schools. You won't have any problem finding a job once you complete a CDL school.

Road Dogg the one thing you've got to keep in your mine is the flooding of drivers coming out of these schools. You may be the greatest guy around but when a company holds up your application next to another new driver with a spotless records who do you think they will pick? You've got to go outside the box and not follow the masses. I have beaten to death the idea that a new driver should get out and visit these companies. In your case it can only benefit you and not hurt you in any way. Find out what you want to do as far as trucking and go and talk with the companies. Try to stay away from the big ones and stick to the smaller operations. You never know you might be talking with an owner that has had the same problems you have had and completely understands. Once you find a few companies that might give you a shot ask them how you go about training. Let them recommend a school and then bust your butt to complete it and go to work. Those companies are out there the only problem is finding them.
