Just spent the last few hours investigating this industry as a possible career change and was looking into CWRV. What did the recruiter lie about and why did you decide not to work for them?

The recruiter may have just not been knowledgeable .. he told me I could run with a dealer tag which I had on my truck because I had recently purchased it and had not received the title yet to get tags for it.
There was a driving ban due to weather conditions, $2500, fine they insisted that I drive to the orientation during this ban .Most if not all of the people I met there were very nice except the one woman in the office had a very bad attitude. She even kept me waiting forty five minutes to tell me I couldn't sign on. This after going through all the orientation signing all the paper work etc. I spent a whole week there only to find this out. There was two other drivers in this same group that decided they didn't want to work for them either. I talked to one he said didn't like the atmosphere. I am currently checking out a couple of other companies it's easier now that I have had a little experience. If you want, PM me and I will tell you what I found out so far.

HI from snowy Philadelphia PA. I have been reading all of the posts on this site about RV transport. I have been an O/O since 1987. I started with Morgan Drive Away out of Elkart. I was based out of thier Leola PA terminal. Terminal manager Deb S.(you still out there DEB?) The rate was 1.09 a mile in 1988. I believe if you are just starting out at the rates they have now you better be living home with mom or have some$$$$ behind you. There are two man P's as a truck owner ,Payments or problems old trucks have down time which equal lost revenue in down time.
New trucks have payments but fewer break downs, which equal more $$. In my opinion. these companies make money by the turn over of new hires running loads until they go up. The seasoned guy's have made it and know how to stay afloat. I made many many mistakes over the years. One thing I have learned is do not run cheap freight and don't drive junk. I feel that rv transporting should pay $1.75+ a outbound mile. I may be wrong, who knows?
    Happy motoring Tom.

I have a friend that left my company to lease on with CWRV. Ended up coming back and then leased on to Uship Transport (no connection to U-ship) and seems to like it. He has tried to get me to change over to them. I don't like change but if I do leave where I'm at I will check them out.

I have a orientation in a few weeks with Foremost hauling trailers on my wedge, its pretty good
loaded mile rates but I have to get the rail system and winch installed asap $.
how are thier back hauls, do they find them or can I get my own up as I have access to a good board.
More or less asking if anyone here is doing this type of hauling for Formost, if so hows it doing for you.

You leased on? Or your own authority?
