I find myself using "slang" in my daily conversations with non truck people. Habit I reckon, they don't seem to mind.

i know that reefer is the slang for refrigerated van... So, I don't know any other one for the APUs...TriPac Dude Thanks this. -
Glad you liked my post. I knew also that reefer was a refrigerated trailer, because that's all my dad has ever pulled, but I was really wondering how you get reefer out of refrigerated. Who knows. I figured since TriPacs are so popular, there'd be a nickname for them too.

I'm planning to buy a better CB radio. So, I want to hear from all of you out there, which one is the better one, with a better radius range and stuff... Give me some insight. Thanks!

Here's a couple I didn't notice in the list
disco lights --> red / blue cop car lights
rolling hammerhead ---> cop car in pursuit (usually has active disco lights, see above. . . . ) -
To the young drivers out there, tell me what a Tattle Tale is......
carolinacrazyhorse Thanks this. -
The new rule on " good buddy" is if you use that phrase you have to talk with a nasal, lispy, high pitched voice.

I'm not a driver yet but have been around em most of my few years... I'll play the game and bite the tattle tale challenge... is it the mile counter?

Here's a pic of a tattle tale, (TACHOGRAPH) and no I did not just google the phrase "tattletale" lol . . . took this pic at the ATCA show in Barrington, NH. A buddy of mine had one of these in the dashboard of an old White Road Boss 6-wheeler and I thought it took up just about the entire dashboard lol An old timer once told me they made a habit of "accidentally" dropping the circular punch cards out of their hands as they were climbing out of the truck so that they could step on them and render them unreadable. Otherwise every other day they had to listen to "welllll, you took 6 minutes at THIS stop, but you used 32 minutes at THAT stop, blah blah blah blah".
