Why do drivers park at the fuel island and then disappear into the truck stop? This has gotten worse over the last few years.drivers used to at least pull ahead of the pumps before they disappeared. Now they pump fuel and disappear.stopped at pilot Niles oh this morning.4 trucks from the same company in mass were at the pumps with no drivers around them. I fueled, parked, used the restroom and ordered food at mcdonalds. While ordering I noticed 4 guys setting there eating.didnt think much of it. As I was leaving the truck stop, there was those same 4 guys getting into the trucks parked at the pumps.WTF is wrong with drivers today. This happens everyday. I wish the driverswould show some ccourtesy for other drivers. Guess people only care about themselves. Just my rant for the day. Thanks for reading

Unfortunately, it's a me,me,me world today. There's no courtesy, none. People suck. They can't bear the thought of being inconvenienced, regardless of how minor. Sad really. I still open doors for people, offer my seat to women and the elderly. Not because I am anything special, but because my mother always told me it's what a gentleman does. It's how I choose to honor her memory, albeit in a small way.

If other drivers would start doing things to their trucks like maybe cut their airlines or stuff, maybe that would teach them a lesson, just saying

Maybe they owned that particular truck stop and the lost revenue and unfortunate drivers behind them was of no concern??? That's probably what it was.

Maybe a driver should just man up and say something to the drivers in question. Not act like a child like you suggest

    Grow up. just saying

Yeah.. it is so annoying and rude.. I know some of them do it because they are too lazy and too incompetent to park their trucks to take their hour brake... I know that was the reason my first trainer did it..
I hated it.. it was embarrassing to have to walk anf get in the truck after we made a truck wait..

I do not do that.. I am considerate.. now I will admit, I have done a quick pull through the fue island just to run jn and pee and grab some coffee.. but, I pull I behind a truck that has just started tk fuel or I pull all the way through an open pump.. so I am in and out.. often waiting for the truck in front of me to move..

When I am fueling I fuel, wash my windows and pull up, then go inside.. and I am quick inside.. I dont browse around, get in and get out...

If I need to shop or look for something I park the truck..

I saw a driver the other day pull in to the pump.. go inside, come out 15 minutes later walk to the McDonalds come back in another 15 minutes and sit and eat right there at the pump... he was still there eating when I left.. who know, he might still be there..

That's one of my favorite pet peeves.I tell drivers off who do that. But as long as truck stops don't enforce that policy, drivers will always do what they want and not have an ounce of care whos waiting to fuel.

I think at some point we may see fuel island personnel hired to monitor this situation at least during the peak 14 hours of the day. It frustrates and runs off drivers from returning, it costs them revenue in the end, it's plain uncourteous and uncalled for, and it's only going to get worse if it's not directly addressed.

A fuel attendant who woill wash my windows while I fuel my truck and this same person monitors for UN-accompanied trucks? If a driver gets embarrassed and publicly outed enough times inside the store, he will stop that behavior. The truck stops could probably more then pay these wages with the additional fuel money they would generate throughout the day. Drivers and carriers would be more productive, and stupid crap that happens at the fuel islands would be minimized.
