Well, if every dispatcher ok'd every whiney driver to park it, then he'd be dealing with "I aint making no money out here! WTF?" Drivers are a difficult breed to manage and keep motivated and dispatchers and fleet managers are trying to meet their quota. It's a no-win situation for all concerned. Suck it up and get the job done or sit on the side of the road and go broke as you "strive for safety". I don't care what you do. The HOS are what they are. Either drivers are griping the HOS causes them to lose money (not driving) or they gripe because they need to have the wheels rolling and don't want to do the work, or they're "tired". Get another job if you can't hack it out here under the current HOS rules and job demands
All the griping in the world isn't going to make your check any bigger this week or next week. And furthermore, the situation is going to be the same. My advice? Quit and work at McDonalds 20 hours week for $10/hr
Dispatcher tries to force driver to drive tired. *MUST SEE*

I just got done talking to Abe,hes worried what may happen Monday when the bosses are there because kb did see the video. He said his dispatcher is being an A hole.I told him he needs to get out of there,it won't get any better.
-
Did you even watch and listen to the video,I mean really listen to it?If so you don't see anything wrong with this dispatcher. This was not whineing.Sometimes you're just too tired to drive so park it.Whats wrong with that?He had a good 10 hr brk but the next day sat all day except 20 miles he drove after his 10.I cant sleep on another 10 hr brk after just done with one can you?
moneyburner and Lowa3468 Thank this. -
moneyburner and pattyj Thank this.

Abe seems like a really nice guy to me. His mistake was accepting that load knowing he would be awake for close to 24 hrs by the time he got to WI. These companies have responsibilities to deliver loads in time it was agreed upon. To many late loads and they lose big accounts that are worth millions of dollars. It is a business.
It looks like his appointment window was too tight, you have to allow at least couple of hours in your pre plan. If i was in this situation i would've just taken a nap for 2 hours and go on with out telling anyone. Better safe than sorry.
Having said all of this i just wanna add, that last dispatcher would be doing jumping jacks himself the next day i saw him (what an a-hole).
Anyways this is just my opinion and im glad i don't find myself is situations like this.pattyj Thanks this. -
I totally agree and hope he does.If not I have a feeling someone else may send them a copy of this video.

Abe is salary so he cant refuse loads but what he should have done is ask dispatch to change appt times. They've done that in the past.
Boka Thanks this. -
Just sign on with a new company, problem solved. But then again im sure they all will see the vid,so might be a problem. But i doubt it,theres plenty of decent comps out there for him.Go local.

Come Monday he may have no choice especially if kb sends a driver to go get the trk.Nothing they do surprises me.Except them calling the law, that really surprised me.
