These overspeed notices and over idle warnings... Are they for company driver only or are L/O getting them too?

If you watch the video, it's for company, lease o/o, and mentors. The idle warning bugs me more, it's 5 degrees out and will be -8 tonight, I'm not shutting my truck down as it might not start back up!

    Arkansas Frost Thanks this.

isnt it that crazy. so youd rather pay 2k plus for a gelled up truck to get fixed than waste 30 dollars on fuel idling.

Yeah, it's not even an over idle... It's just idle. Over speed didn't happen they just told me I have to watch a video about it. Unfortunately I also have to stick to my plans and continue to run. I don't have any access to the video online so I'll have to call Monday and see what my punishment is for not accomplishing whatever it is I shoulda accomplished.

    Log into Swift.

I could be mistaken but this is the one I found and really the only one (that I saw) that made sense. It explains the overspeed for company drivers, trainers, and L/O/O and what it is exactly.

That link wouldnt take my log in info.

What I dont understand is that they sent the message out on the 28th, and said you had to view it by 3/1. thanks for giving me a whole day to watch it. lol

I tried searching for overspeed, didnt come up, oh well.

That's weird, it wouldn't let me log in either.

The one I tried to link to above is called "Speed Policy Revision 01 September 2011" for those of you who can't find it. I'm still not 100% sure that's the one they wanted us to watch but no one has barked at me yet. Then again, it is Sunday.

They send so many of these wacky messages out I get them all mixed up. I do recall receiving that request once before yesterday though, I just didn't have time to dawdle in a terminal screwing around with that kiosk.

Had they told me I could do it from the website I would have when they first mentioned it.

I want to know why we can't update our info over the web but can do it at a kiosk. It's just so inconvenient.

im pretty sure that's the one. Because the piece of paper in the terminal that describes all of this is titled the same. It's an old policy. But new to us central drivers.

By the way. Anyone know the idle policy? Quick glance at the handbook didn't show much. Might have to look at it further.

All I know is that on the Qualcomm under performance monitoring. If you look at thresholds. It says warm up 3-5 minutes. Last I checked when it's 5 out it takes more than 5 minutes to get the truck to normal operating temperature. Centrals thresholds were the same. But swift might be more strict on there stuff.
