You don't need anything the company will provide all. If you want your own boots bring them.

Could you tell me what a pws is and what it consists of. I drove for Schneider approx. 7 years ago and went through three weeks of training in Charlotte NC because I had not driven in several years before that and don't remember anything called a pws.

    Pre-Work Screen
    Frequently asked questions...
    •
Why am I asked to participate in a Pre-Work Screen?
    The work demands associated with
“Trucking” are vigorous and challenging. We want to make certain that
you can perform the required demands
    of the job safely.
    •
Do I need to participate in the Pre-Work Screen?
Yes... as a driver candidate you are required to participate as a condition
of your employment. Candidates who choose not to participate will not be
    considered for employment.
    •
What if I feel the Pre-Work Screen
    demands are beyond my current
    physical capabilities?
    Under no circumstances
should you proceed if you feel the physical demands of the Pre-Work Screen are
    be
yond your current physical capabilities. Please inform the screener if this is a concern.
    •
What if I an unable to pass the Pre-Work Screen?
If you are unable to pass the Pre-Work Screen you will not be considered
for employment at this time, though ##ture employment is certainly an op-
tion.Schneider National staff will coordinate your travel home.
    •
What happens when I pass the Pre-Work Screen?
Upon passing of the Pre-Work Screen you will proceed with your training
    session.
    Safety First and Always.

in between each task you will have your heart rate checked. Remember to breath normally during each task, avoid coffee before the tests too. Anything above I think 155bpm disqualifies a driver. Someone else may be able to confirm or correct this.

"Throughout the screening process your heart rate will be monitored.
As a safety measure and per our
    testing procedure, your screen
will be stopped if your heart rate meets or
    exceeds 90% of your age predicted maximum [(220 - age) X 0.9].
This is considered a failed screen"

    Example: Age 40
    Take 220-40=180
    Then 180x0.9=162
A person age 40 can not go over 162 beats per minute during the testing

    mickimause and Stuka Thank this.
