I am of a breed of quality, skill, knowledge. The risks I take are my own. I try to convey to other drivers, new & old the ways I was taught & keep learning. I claim to know enough to keep me safe. I never claim to have been in every situation where I knew what to do. My Name was Damit for 1.5 years. #### it Tramp. Should have done it this way. Some day it will be your turn. You learn every day, all day long. You are the life line of this country. You fail, we fail. Never take chances, it's never worth the cost. If they want it bad today, the receiver will be grateful when you get it there safely. A load does no one any good in a ditch. Thunder Transport. Houston. Tx.

Your the captain, Your the Boss. It all depends on you. 40 tons or more. Your the Boss. This is the real world. Accept it, or not. We make America move, some Die, most don't. It ain't a game. How you drive means live or die. I am a hard butte old school driver. I'm still teaching, still alive. Point/ :)

Agreed Saddletramp, no poopybombs. With darn near 40yrs between the doors you've seen a thing or two.
    Teach on. Thank you Sir.
As drivers, we are the captains of that 40 ton missile that needs to be professionally driven.
    Let's be careful out there.
Remember, someone loves you, don't ask me why.

Stay safe out there guys/and gals. It is a busy world out there and so many newbies. If we could just plug into a brain and download all the info in it, that would be great. The vast knowledge tucked away in each persons head.

    mje Thanks this.

Yes dispatchers can make it enjoyable or full of you know what. It seems a lot of the ones who are more decent have been truckers themselves at some time. That is what they need to do, make a dispatcher ride a couple of months with a trucker and learn first hand what just one hour difference makes somedays.

I guess ranting and raving only comes free, good therapy sometimes and a lot cheaper, but that blood pressure doesn't need to be jacked up too much now.

I am the first to get angry when someone is pushed past their limits. 40 tons of truck is a real challenge under the best conditions. Some Monkey in a chair that claims to have driven a truck and now is God with a phone should know better. I am more than likely to be making more of this than I should. Point is it happens way to often. I don't have room for angry. It's an emotion Truck Drivers are not allowed. The 4 wheeler, the storm, we work with it. We can convey, I can't control this thing right now, should be all it takes. Need rest. Be it bathroom tissue or exotic cars. When you tell these people your too tired to drive, it is time for management to reset the delivery time. Don't tell me it can't be done. I'm safety, I know it can. The pulse of a company is on my desk everyday. My rant is over. Too many good people die over greed.

Exactly. No load , going no where is worth driving while YOU , the captain know full well you're too tired to drive. Rather park , and arrive late , than push it, and maybe kill somebody. Good one saddle tramp. Real good one. There ain't no way to buy that attitude......it's earned.

I failed tonight to do my honor bound job. A person I know having way too much to drink slipped away because I went to get a slim Jim to open his locked car to yank the coil wire. He is a bomb driving drunk into innocent people. I failed. He fell down in my yard. Should have shot a tire out. Called 5.0. I'm too old to stop a 300 lb man. Asked for his keys. Nope. He is a 3 time DUI. I am ashamed I could not do better. Got the Uniden going, hope they find him before he kills.
