LAPD officer killed, another injured in truck crash

Privacy laws? Why can't they say who was in the crash? does this only apply to CA? Never heard of such nonsense before.

 

It's called investigation. They have to do one first.

 

The article stated names are being withheld "pending notification of next of kin". Family members have a right to be properly informed of the death of a loved one rather than reading about it in the paper. I think this common courtesy is pretty much universal.

 

Are they allowed to release the name of the 'trash hauler' ?

Why is the police officer carrying a flag to honor the unnameable victim of the police department while the wreck remains behind him... Where is he going with that flag?

That's a new police protocol to me too. Must be a Beverly Hills thing. Interesting.

 

They are already saying the trucker may have lost His breaks. its always the truckers fault!

 

It is never the cops fault. You should see what goes on when one of there motor cycles goes down. They commonly split traffic in the carpool lane and drive on the dots at above freeway speeds.
