Super singles (yes or no)

    Considering duals versus singles in specing a new trailer. Was told by a fleet owner singles do not like heavy loads at 75mph speed limits out west and wear irregularly. In my operation loads are lightweight but I do run 75mph out of necessity at times. My question would be how do they wear under lightweight loads running 75mph for long periods? He also mentioned if a wheel bearing is not set properly it wouldn't take long at all to notice it on the inside shoulders it would wear down quickly. Like any tire really you have to stay on top of psi and regularly inspect everything.

    I dont run 75 regularly, but have had no irregular wear running fast when i have to. if you use 0 offset you should have no irregular inside wear.

    I just run 70s or lower. Trucks aren't aggressive like cars. One hard turn and the truck rolls over. I would drive less than 70 to increase mpg and reduce tire wear.

    I ran them on my flatbed spread & I took them off and put on regular mounts. I had Michelin X-Ones, they didn't last as expected. Went to Bridgestone's & had the driver side front axle peel off in the center. Personally I would avoid them on a spread. If you dump a axle & it's not off the ground it drags, if the tires are hot they can & will peel. Truckstops don't have as many used supers so you will likely pay $500 or so for used. When I went from the X-Ones to Bridgestone's the cost was around $3,400 a set, but this was in 2009 or 2010.

    Maybe u had low pressure. Add inflation system to the trailers.

    Do any of you really think tire companies would invest that much into it if it wasn't an improvement? As I said to each his own. Some people like them, some people hate them. It's like buying a truck, no one is better than the other in the all around. It's all opinion.

    what is price for super singles in USA


    here...


    ....i was looking at continental 495/45r22.5 for drive axle ,2tires are 2580€

    4x 315/70r22.5 same generation are 2130€

    except this you need TPM and ESP

    I guess I could say the same thing about the parking assist sensors in the rear bumper of my 2013 Silverado. Darn things ticked me off so much I permanently disabled them. But many folks like them. Go figure. Wide based are in the same league. Some disdain them, others really like them. Guess it all has to do with the application. Each of these things, the sensors and the wide based, are great technology, but do not always fit into every application. Neither is a step backward.

    A quick look at the Love's tire site has wide based 445/50R22.5 at $1060 U.S.
