Fumoto valves are great. You'll never have to worry about someone puttiing an impact on your oil drain plug again. They're 30-40 bucks each, but well worth it.

Great. Oil pan threads came out with the plug.

Napa or most local part stores won't have anything big enough to work. At least in my area they have no idea where to get parts for big machinery and trucks. See what cat suggests or Try a machine shop for helicoil kit that was mentioned before. I used them on 2 of my trucks and the threads are stronger than new. Over tightening is an issue but sometimes lots of miles on aluminum threads with 100 or more services will definitely pull them out

Ended up doing a drill and tap to 1 11.5 NPT and put a steel bushing with a plug in the center. Will work until the next oil change. Will switch over to a FEMCO then. Thanks to all for your help.

I have seen 2 of those valves get hit and damaged, niether engine was damaged, one the driver saw, the other was an "E" and the low oil light came on.
Look at the oil pan plug and if the paint is worn off somthing hit it, Cat paint is hard to damage.
The plugs are damaged because some places use an impact to install them.
I have seen pans repaired by welding in an aluminum plug inside and out, and then drilling and tapping for a 3/4 NPT plug. Cummins also makes a repair that works, That is my choise. it can be done on the truck.
Just a thought!BoxCarKidd Thanks this. -
When you use a torque wrench 50 foot pounds is not very much. I'm sure some people pull close to 100 foot pounds when they tighten them. -
The Cummins repair is what I went with. Actually Cat sent me to KW for it.
