Ok so I want to share my experience at MTC Driver Training. I started not to come here based upon the negative things I read here but I decided to follow through with my commitment. Getting here on the Greyhound is the worst experience ever. I came from Columbus Ga and everything was cool until I got to Nashville. They couldn't find a driver so instead of getting here at 7am like I was supposed, I got here at 2pm. Got here, filled out the paperwork and took my drug and Dot physical. No issues there, got my cdl manual and was told to study 7 chapters by the next day. We left for our hotel which is not the same hotel they had been using. I was told they had too many problems at the old location. They now use the Extended Stay which is in a nice part of town from what I can see. I wa told that I would be roomed with someone and when I got to the room roommate had first dibs on the bed because his roommate got sent home. So I'm on the couch which is not the best but it's not the worst either. Over all nothing I would just really complain about. I will keep everyone posted as I go.

Tell them you don't have a bed and that you couldn't sleep at all on the couch. Maybe they'll give you another room

Two to a room with only one bed? That's not even the beginnings of cool.

Didn't get off to a good start today because I went to the wrong room and was maked late because the instructor had already called roll and I hadn't completed some of the assignments in my cdl manual. I'm not mad at all because it has made me see the seriousness of what I'm getting into.

Ok it's been a minute since I posted about my experiences at MTC driver training. Ok so last Tuesday we went for our permits after only spending a few hours on air brakes. All I can tell you is if you are thinking about going to any school make sure you go to your local dmv and get the book and study study study the section on air brakes. It took me five attempts to pass the air brakes. Here in missouri they have a choice between paper or computer but you only have two attempts per day. Over all the instructors are pretty cool and know their stuff. Got a chance to do some yard mananuvers and go out on the road on Saturday. Sunday we did log books all day which I didn't mind because it was cold as hell yesterday ! I am having a good time here and that's allł I can say.

Actually they moved the hotel to a Extended Stay which is in a really nice part of town. Across the street from a Crown Plaza with a TGIF in it. I have my own food to cook for breakfast so that's not a issue. But yes the lunch has been mostly McDonalds chicken sandwiches or pizza. In the truck we have had four students in 1 truck with a trainer. I could complain about the conditions but that is not going to get me my cdl. Learning the maneuvers and how to pre trip and 7 step brake check is what is going to get me out of here on time. It could be worse I could be back home doing the same thing I was doing before I came here. Driving a taxi paying out over $2100 a month just to work so I will take whatever mtc has to dish out
