As far as HazMat, we have some loads that will say in the comments that they are HazMat, only to pick them up and they are not. FedEx comes to mind. In all of them that I have hauled, not one has been. They are just covering their butt just in case. Have also pulled out of a WalMart DC and told that it was only to get there and it was not. Tow Lift batteries. There have been times that it has gotten me a load where every one else around did not have the endorsement. I remember years ago also hauling Haz in a reefer,

Anyone ever have a volvo that can answer a question about the bunk heater? I finally figured out how to turn it on. And how the knob controls the temp. Now I see how
auto will turn on the bunk heater at the time you set. Now what does the cycle option do?

Well, I am new to the world of trucking (just finished my orientation last Wednesday). Met my DM and was told I was 3rd in line for a trainer. Me and 1 other guy are the last ones sitting here waiting for a trainer. I saw 6-7 people get trainers over the weekend from my class AND a couple from the class that completed Orientation 3 days after I did. I am getting frustrated already and haven't even gotten in a truck yet. Does anyone have any advice on how to get the process going faster than it is? Thanks in advance!

Walk in n tell them you are going home.... For them to call you when they can put you with a trainer..... No use in wasting anymore time sitting around the yard... You came there to make money.... If they can't accommodate that you will have to find another place to take your talents....

Good luck y'all!! I am gone to the next chapter in life. I ran 700 miles this last weekend and ended up on safety hold because some ppwk got lost. My student was the one on hold but that froze my truck. Anywho, enough with the roller coaster!! Good luck to everyone and I'll check in sometimes, though not nearly as much since I've chosen to have a family life again. Thanks to all that helped and I may be back from time to time as I move on. Be safe and God bless all truckers, especially you Swifties! P.S. C27156 has less than 2 years on the lease for anyone looking for a shorter term truck!! It's at Conley.

If I were you I'd head home and seek employment elsewhere. They're having a hard time placing you with a trainer because all the trainers are quitting! With as many quitting, you know they can't be leaving just because.. Central was an awesome company 6 or 8 months ago but now not so much. Now you'll be just another number on swifts keno board..

I have been contemplating doing just that. The only problem is I am at CRSWVC and my home is in NJ. I don't exactly have the money to get home and even if I did get home, I have been looking on Craigslist for other employment and nobody is hiring without some kind of experience (minimum of 6 months is the lowest I've seen). Then there is the problem of breaking my contract and still owing the money to Swift/Central for my training. Today I walked in and talked to my DM and he tells me that the only reason I am not already out with a trainer is because they imported students from Fontana that have been sitting for 2 weeks and that he can't even give me an idea of when I will be called. His words were, "How long are you willing to wait?" Is there a way to get a new DM?

problem is your dm now isnt your dm full time. you finished training so i understand why you wouldnt want to go to another company. it sucks. but if your at the main terminal i say go to the training department and ask them. looks like your dm is going no where with you.

    TwiZtedFateZ Thanks this.

Yeah. Since you're in wvc id suggest going to the training department and talking to them.
