I've worked alongside them in Western PA. Decent group, nicely setup trucks. Of course, all that can change in an instant, but I had a good impression from them.

 

I mainly worked in NE PA, with a few out of town stays in the Canonsburg area, and a bunch of mud runs to WV and OH. I honestly wouldn't say PA is steady anywhere. It's up, then it's down. The price of natural gas relative to the demand in PA is keeping production somewhat low. There is a bunch of shuffling around of leased, and a good bit of pipeline work though. Personally I'm taking a break, waiting for the hourly rates on tankers to go up enough to justify picking one up. Not sure it's gonna happen though, as there has been some massive undercutting going on.

 

When I was doing the gas well gig here in NE and North central Pa last year, and I did see a bunch Smith tankers running water up in Clermont, Pa area (North Central Pa area) which I believe was in the wet gas area (don't quote me on that, never asked) but the northeast area went almost to a screeching halt when the price of dry gas (Marcellus shale) went way down a couple years ago, so a lot of companies packed up and went west, only a small hand full of wells still being drilled/fracked no doubt due to not losing their leasing of land, but that's why I got out of it and went OTR
