I hope I am not hijacking the thread. A smart phone with Google Maps is invaluable for that very reason. I am sure there have many many threads on it already. The Rand McNally TND-720 that I got is barely worth the box it came in.

I would not sweat it to much. You can call them in the morning and explain why you went over.
Some people wouldn't even call but I think most companies just want to notate so if they get audited they can cover their behind. I would also make a notation stating that you was trying to get to a safe haven -
