twelve years ago i was leased to T.L.S. of W/S N.C. and tried to complained about fsc issue.thought i had backing of other o/os there.they stabbed me in my back and i was released from my contract.i got my own operating authority and have done my own thing since then.every o/o i have tried to help since then has stabbed my in my back one way or the other.fool me once shame on you, fool me a dozen more times and i have been taught a lesson.it truly is a cut throat business that we have chosen.i to am in a niche market and have kept my mouth shut.i tell u this because whatever i do re:silent protest,call MaCaskill,or help anyone,i do it for myself and not for anyones benefit.

 

Bullhaulerswife, if you dont mind my asking what was the most difficult part of getting your oun authority?I keep thinking that is the only way to go. I left my job to stay home with our child, so the idea is that I would go to the loadboards and dispatch from home. I am not sure about the ins and outs of all the laws, but anything has to be better than what we havr experenced so far.

There is eople you can pay t do it. But I would suggest you read the post called "so you want to own your own co" she has done a good write up and is easy to fallow. It's alot but you just do it step by step and it isn't too bad

 

I seen it once last year. And I can assure you the broker adjusted his rate to reflect to line haul. I can't help it if I have to use brokers since I am a one man operation. Brokers are killing me.

Something nobody has mentioned, unless you factor your invoices ie; payday loan, you will need to have enough of your own money to operate for 30-45 days until the money you earned starts to roll in. Now is a tough time to start your own company, however you should be able to buy tractors and trailers for a discount.

 

i am a ooida member,when i got my operation authority and was looking for insurance they wouldn't sell me any. was mad then,but now i'm glad they didn't.all the trucking companys they have sued will not do business with u if u list ooida on anything
