There is a couple of ebooks out... called something like become a millionaire in 10 years driving a truck...

Anyway, the main thing they suggest is living in your truck.. no house payment, car payment, utilities and such... pretty much just your cell phone a couple hundred dollors a week for food... take the money you would be spending o bills and put it in an interest earning account and just keep depositing into it...

Tit was written by a truck driver and there is some good advice in it...

The thing with some OTR drivers sitting for a couple days.. is they dont manage their 14/70 clock or understand it... so they keep running out there 70and need a reset.. I am not saying that is always the case.. just it is for some drivers...

Never tricked anyone into anything. Have heard about everything they have. I am going to write a book. This Forum keeps me young. I will tell how it is. Love You all, Tramp. P.S. the school paper published one of my rants. Don't throw your Gum on the floor.

To the OP if things are right for you go out and do it. All I can say is dive into it. You may only get a single shot, as the window of opportunity may be short lived. In other words in five years you may not have the the opportunity as you do now. As cash flow may not be the same nor your life circumstances. As companies consolidate, account's get underbid and companies change without little warnings to the guy out in the field putting in the foot work.

What might be right for you may not be for someone else, only you can decide and you will be the only one that succeeds or fails.
You can probably live off $350 a week and put the rest up in savings. I myself had done the same thing for years, with the exception of getting a hotel of my choice once a month on my off time. But do to bad financing and the loss are company had loosing the division I worked in. Things just never been the same.
That's pretty much what I was trying to say, that opportunity may be short lived. So if that's where your ambitions tell to go, go follow them and do the best you can.

I agree with saddeltramp, if that's what you intend to to, I would suggest to go it alone. As couples teaming are filled with, hand full's of problems within themselves. Teaming alone as far as that goes.
I'm assuming your a solo driver. If that's got you this far, pull it through. I don't think tricking someone into something you might regret later is gonna do you any good.
This industry's hard on the family life, and hard on relations period, especially OTR. Divorce seems to be a major issue among drivers out here. So you might want to put that on hold.
But if you get the car and the house the beautiful women will come along later. It's just a matter of time. That's just putting the horse before the carriage and not the other way around.

good luck and try to make the best of it.

Got rocked over a Lawn Tractor today. Pot metal goes away fast. Glock makes a nice gun..... Slept on a board between two seats. Guess most have it better.... Smiled, when I read, Been waiting all day. Dispatch won't let me have my Python in my truck. I never tie my shoes, I ride a van.
The doors are open, I'm talking to my GF, get this off my trailer. My favorite, You ordered it, I brought it, make it gone. I'm on an important call. I am Sir Truck driver. Wow dude, that suks, all your tires. You need to move your truck so we can use this space. 16 rims, has to be a record. We never heard it, sorry.

Had to go pick a tractor up. Dude hanged himself in it. He ate Mucho pills. As far as I know, you can't hang Yourself in a Cab over.

Hate to not do my job. Gather rocks, medium size, about 12. Cheap aluminum foil. Dollar stores have grates. I prefer Yard Pimp. (chicken) it's getting expensive though. I use Kingsford charcoal. Paper will kick it. .89 for cotton balls. 1.29 for Canola oil. About 4-9 dollars and what else you want. I use Garlic, Onion, W Shire, salt. Wipe the grill with the oil. I do yard pimp easy 6-8 lbs in an hour. The grill is out of an abandoned refrigerator. 10 lbs for 4.12 @ Kroger. Frozen thaws.

Vienna sausage's, Raman Your choice. Hello, if you want it that bad, do it. Only live once. I am bullet proof. I will always be healthy. I make sure my truck won't ever fail. My arms are getting pale, need better food. It's just a phase. Truck payment is in two weeks. I have paid everything & have $400.00 left. I charge what I do, because I am the one. Most of your life will be gone before you get to where I am at. I'm not better, I just know more. When your "too Good" that is when it bites you.

of course it can be done. I am not sure i would want to try to be any sort of a landlord while being full time on the road. Here is a variation on the theme I am executing. I live full time in a 5th wheel RV, pull it to where I want to park it with my tractor,my legal residence is Texas which is very friendly for this sort of thing. I shut the 5th wheel down when I leave, it is secure in the park it is at and a minimum of overhead( almost nothing).. When it gets hot in TX I go to wherever I want, park there for a few months whatever...
Tune in to Dave Ramsey, I did his Total Money Makeover from 2003 to 2005, have been totally out of debt since. Will never go back.

Again, real estate always goes up in value. Wait many years from now the homes of today will be worth more than they are now. Real estate always goes up in value. Especially when Odummer leaves office. Homes back in 1960 that were bought at $50,000 are probably now worth $200,000, down from their $400,000 value in 2007, but still went up from their initial price. Anyone who is trying to argue my fact is wrong.
