I have a 1500 watt Cobra inverter that works well as long as the engine and APU aren't running. If either one runs the inverter beeps then shows a code of OCP which I assume is over current protection and then shuts down. Anyone know what the problem with it is?

If it does it on crank/up its normal, turn it off then crank eng. or apu. then restart conv.

Does it after crank up also. I think the inverter may be bad?
baha Thanks this. -
Check the voltage while off and while on. Did this problem just start or has it been since the inverter was installed? Is anything plugged in when the error comes on? Does the fan get really loud? The inverter shouldn't use any current (less then an amp) unless something is plugged in. Its normal for it to fail while you crank, but not once the apu or motor is on.
OCP is over temp. This means a bad temp sensor, or maybe the area is heating up some how when motors are running. Does it feel hot to the touch? When i got OCP the thing was burnign hot.

Mine had a bad fan and kept getting that error.
Is the inverter grounded? -
