Stay away from CR England unless you want to go broke.

US Xpress was pretty decent years ago, freight went down hill and then they were giving loads to the lease op's vs the company drivers and back then they were preferring team drivers over solo's. Husband stayed out about 3 mo at a time before he would request home time, no perks to it, just didn't have to try and swing home and loose time. Usually you have to stay out 21 days back then to get a couple off. I was riding with him then also and no kids at home like you have.

Prime has the lightweight trucks, yup ok, pays 5c a mile more Husband is leasing now again, so far so good, but would not suggest that for someone just starting.

Pretty much all trucks, including lease trucks, have govenors on them and it usually isn't anything over 62. Thanks to insurance companies.

Most companies have a rider policy that just costs a few bucks a month, but some restrict kids to 8-10 yrs old and older and some to just the summer time months. No more than one rider at a time, etc.

ROFL... You forgot P.A.M. and CRST, that's where the big $$$ is. Make sure you sign a lease though because if you're going for broke you really need to go all out. Its probably better not to read it.

...so 9/10 ...Good advice could've been better.

have ya thought @ EPES? now they do run the north east but i'm pretty sure they pay extra for it. here's their thread. now i worked for a brief time for Texas Express/EPES and it didn't work for me but others seem to love it. read more here...http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...scoop/25907-epes-transport-greensboro-nc.html

the only thing i have @ your list is "advances." do your best to STAY AWAY FROM DOING THAT! esp starting out you run the risk of digging yourself into a big hole that maybe tough to get out of. just my 2 cents there.

good luck Driver and be safe!
