Curious as to how many specialized loads the flatbed division gets. I'm considering applying once I have finished truck driving school.
Any Questions about Roehl??

I don't know about flatbed I drive van although I've been thinking of switching from dry van to flat bed just so my day is a little more exciting lol
-
I am a newbie and will be starting in about two weeks. I have been reading all the threads and am getting excited. I am signed on for flatbed. I am on the try and be home every weekend, my kids are gone and the wife is used to me traveling so if I can stay out longer is Roehl getting enough loads to keep me busy??
I will be going to Gary. -
Simple answer. Yes. If you stay out longer, it's easier for them to get you better loads since they don't have to worry about getting you past the house in 7 days. If there aren't any flatbed loads near, they'll have you hook to a van. They had me do just that to get me home from picking up my truck. And since where my last delivery was was almost 300 miles from home, I offered to take another load home and relay it and they were more than happy to load me up.

You will like the Gary IN people I have been there and like I stated I left Roehl but I'm going back. I consider myself lucky they took me back, work is extremely hard to find. Roehl don't take just anyone and your offer letter is just the start so pay attention as to what they are telling you! You will have a lot to take in in a short period of time! I believe this is the best company for drivers just starting out. Short training period, rooms paid for, meals paid, paid training, paid travel to there facility, good starting pay for new drivers. When you get on the best two things I believe is stay away from the pissers and moaners and above all DON'T HIT ANYTHING while driving. If you have to stop your truck and set the breaks don't hit anything. Good luck

thank you so much for the advice!!!! I am looking forward to it. I agree on the don't hit anything!!!

Does Roehl have a tanker division?
-
Nope. They do have a few tankers, but those are just for getting fuel to the terminals
-
Bummer, I'm thinking I want to get into tankers...
-
No, No tankers but, they bought a refer company not to long ago I believe. Are you wanting to pull tankers?
