It gets easier with time.
But in the beginning it is stress to the Nth degree.
One step at a time, and never ever let yourself be rushed.
Because when you rush things, you make stupid mistakes.
Is in normal to feel stressed out while in training ?

when I first started out I was a country boy from the south. started with burlington motor carriers, I think all they new was chicago philidelphia and jersey, but after about a week of that torture I could go any where and pulling a 53 foot trailer was no different than pulling my boat. I use my convex mirrors more than the normal ones, just easier to see the rear trailer wheels. shifting will get easier also. I can float gears in a 4 wheeler now with no grinding lol. You will be surprised what you can do as long as the only nervousness you allow your self is just enough to respect the vehicle your driving and what can happen if you turn loose. stay safe and listen to your trainer he does not want you to fail.

If you can make it out of training you will feel much better. ..I think we all drive for the freedom and the money...so having someone else in the truck loooking and grading and judging you is stressful to anyone
Aminal, ramblingman, Moosetek13 and 1 other person Thank this. -

Ok ive only been on TTR for a short time but it has to be said.... WOW! Wish it was my first day, advise most of it good, support the whole shebang! 38 years old driving since 21. (Yes i know my profile say 12 years) when i started it was white knuckle all the way. No trainer no help... figure it out for yourself. Take the support where you can get it i was not so lucky. My advise is simple. Go as slow as you want to get G.O.A.L. as often as you have to of someone gives you ahard time remind them there not paying your insurance.

Whoa....you mean you thought you just climbed on board your truck and drove down the highway listening to country tunes without a care in the world ? Nobody told you about all the responsibility that comes with the "Job" ? Like, driving/loading/fueling/unloading/finding your way in strange cities/paperwork/weather/communicating with company personnel/arranging to get repairs/weight distribution, as well as keeping the fire lit on on the home front ? Yeah, I've said it before, it's not for everyone. Good luck.

Very normal to be stressed out.
If you trainer turns into a douchebag fire him. Thats right, FIRE him. He gets paid for your miles, so you are a big fat paycheck to him, in fact for most trainers you are the only profit he makes cause he was a moron with a "fleased" truck.
Best of luck to you, it gets both easer and better.Lux Prometheus Thanks this. -
