I dont know how you guys do it. If im out more then a week i got problems. I did that oregon load a while back and a few uxbridges and im done with that. I hate doing 34ers on the road. Did florida and back 2500 miles in 4 days and taking time off till they get my pm done. Think thats my perfect trip. Actually got a FL backhaul for the first time. If you live in dallas this could be the best otr company driver position available. And trust me im always looking for a better gig and cant find one. 3 weeks no check engine light!!!

For me, it's habit. With Crete, I got into the habit of 6 weeks out, 4-5 days off because it disturbed the freight pattern enough going home that 2 weeks paychecks were screwed up. As far as a 34 on the road...I get more rest out here than I do at home. At home, I try to do as much as I can squeeze in, which means pushing myself to total exhaustion, repeatedly. Out here, I've got the HOS telling me when I have to stop...at home when I tell mama that my honey-do logbook is out of hours...she gives me a new logbook :smt079... (she's not really that bossy but I just try to keep up with her)

Plus, the highest grossing year I've ever had was at Crete, I made $64k+. (before the recession and before the 62mph trucks and before the asset mismanager program) So, in an effort to prove that Poly is truly a far better company to truck for...I must exceed that as soon as I can, and a southeast loop tour doesn't accomplish that for me...plus I have TADD. (Trucker A.D.D., if I don't see different areas I get easily sidetracked and stop pushing to make that better paycheck). Let's face it...if I am gona be trucking for a living, this is the best place I've worked to earn a respectable living, and as long as I'm out here I may as well run as hard as the book says I can.

What did crete do before mph wise? My Averitt truck did 75 before the fuel increases. Wow has that changed my anger issues on the road. At 68 im getting pissed of constantly at people. I dont understand the getting on a 70 mph highway doing 40(4wheeler) so i get over then they just sit next to you till you slow down. Then they speed up. And the 30 cpm truckers with bent ferrings that slow down then speed up over and over. So your behind them just boiling over with hate. Try to pass them, nope they speed up, so you slow down get over and five minutes later they are slowing you down again. I dont understand the people(person) that says i love my job in trucking. This job (as a whole) sucks and its going to get worse as the population increases. Sitting for long periods of time is the worse thing you can do to your body. That guy that got rejected had blood clots in his legs. I wonder how many truckers are found dead in their trucks from heart attacks and stroaks.

Take 10 deep breaths real slow. And repeat after me.....ohmmmmmmmmmmm.........ohmmmmmmmmmm.

sure there are idiots and trouble makers on the road...but...there are idiots and trouble makers no matter what job you have. We just have to concentrate on the fact that if we do it right and in a professional way....most people won't notice or care...but if we do our jobs in any kind of unprofessional manner...they will remember...and likely call in on us... (but it doesn't stop us from fantasizing about using a rocket launcher to remove them from the gene pool....oh wait.......ohmmmmmmmmmm....ohmmmmmmmmmmm......ohmmmmmmmmmmm)

As for Crete's trucks...65mph, but they pulled better when pulling a hill at that speed. When they slowed them down, it moved the speed to the bottom of the torque curve and it couldn't hold 62 that long. If they were going to run 62, they should at least run 13 speeds so that as soon as you start up a hill, you split down to 12th and hit the top of the torque curve...but so many drivers that are out here now wouldn't know how to drive a 13 speed.

I just peeked at my logbook for March. I left home 3/17 and I was in a loaner truck. I got back in this truck on 3/21...between 3/21 and today I have put 17,500 miles on this truck. And it was around 1000 miles in the other truck from home to backhaul to delivery and to GP. So that means in 45.5 days I ran 18,500 miles....considering that about 1/2 the Outbound loads I had were multi-stop...I am not complaining, except now I am headed home...and I have to leave my truck at the shop for an overdue pm...bummer

I am in shock. I didn't rush back to the yard today from Poltex. In fact, I sat in line at the Streakin Beacon for 2 hours getting her clean. I checked in around 4pm. I looked over the loaners thinking that I was destined to use one of those. My home load doesn't get loaded until Saturday, so I got a bobtail pass and a loaner...wrote up my truck, and they said maybe they'd get it in tonight. I did all my paperwork, watched a little tv, then went out to get in my truck and pack...only to find my truck gone...as in the shop did indeed come and get it...if the shop starts getting their act together...what will I complain about?
