What's up guys..I been going back fourth about this company but I never see any of their trucks on the road. They must not have a lot of freight moving around. Since I been on the road I see mostly tmc and Melton flatbed

They're not a stick and brick hauler, so they must not have much freight to move around, right?

As an Owner Op, not L/P I worked there for four months and another O/O and myself averaged $800/wk. Loads were cheap and often to bad areas. Ive since brokered loads from them that pay 2/3 more thsn what it paid me working for them.

They are 90% L/P drivers, they make a mint off of them. They own the dealership the trucks come from, the lease company they get drivers too, the shop they work on them in and they control the freight you run. So yeah, they LOVE new drivers.

They own a number of smaller companies that can pull loads from ATS, but ATS cannot pull from thier boards. When the heavy haul guys get slow they also pull from the general freight boards, making it worse.

There was a lot of sitting involved as well. I do a good job of running efficeint, i dont take advances. I did what I was supposed to do and almost went down because of it.

Overall I and the other O/O had terrible experiences here and do not recommend ATS.

On the flip side I am a l/p driver at Anderson. I average $1700 a week and enjoy the company. I'm treated well, and communication has been great. Anderson mostly stays east of 35.

This is why I hate looking for a company to drive for... I totally appreciate honest feedback and realize everyone has different experiences but this can be sooo stressful not wanting to make a bad decision. I just talked to ATS earlier today and as right now, they are top choice on my list... but hell, I might as well go back to Celadon, at least I know the system as well as the BS I will have to endure :biggrin_25510:

L/O isn't like being a company driver. Some weeks are better than others. Sometimes you get no pay, some weeks $4000 (yes I made that in a week AFTER expenses, but only once)... Its the nature of the beast.
Ask yourself what you want. If you like asking if you can go to a truckstop, or driving when you feel sick because the company wants it, go company.
If you want your own choices AND get the benefits and curses that come from it then lease.

As for ATS, I love working for them. If you want to be OTR this is your company. I have even gone to Alaska! They help if you get behind in payments with a couple different programs, and the lease company helps with fronting money for repairs. How you run...what you take for cargo. has a direct effect on what you make AND more importantly for me specifically is how much you will enjoy doing the job.

    Good luck
