Well for starters, don't rely on "some lady" to handle the filing of crucial federal documents.

First off, you need a USDOT number and this has a number of insurance filing requirements. Then, you'll need an apportioned plate, based in your domicile state. Also, unless you plan on buying trip permits each and every time you venture out of state, you'll need to look into what each state may need. I'm not sure what state you're in and what states you now run into ... also you may need to look into getting into an IFTA fuel registration (and this has some specific "trip reporting" requirements paperwork for each and every trip and will be needed for future IFTA or apportioned plate audits)

Also, you need to set up in-house log procedures to make sure they are done correctly and legally and collected weekly and saved for potential future safety audit reasons

Best bet is to hire a trucking permit outfit to help get you off the ground with all of this. Once all the initial work is done, you can use them to do the quarterly reporting or do it yourself.

Do an internet search or TTR search for the buzz words mentioned and you'll gather a lot more info.

I would also say that you need to join OOIDA as this looks like something that they would be your best resource for.

I do not work of OOIDA so you will have to do a google search to get their contact information.

Two keys to the right of the M button is this .

Inserting one at the end of each sentence, or thought, makes it so much easier for readers to comprehend.

    Just Mikeeee's little tip.

One other thing I noticed is that you are 18 years old. You can't run Interstate legally, only intrastate. You have to be 21 to run interstate.
