Greetings all, just discovered this forum watching some youtube videos and thought I would find it more helpful to browse here.
I am looking into going to school in Jackson,Tn maybe at the Tenn. Tech Center or making the drive to TDI in Murfreesboro, Tn. I am a Marine corps veteran, I worked in logistics (0481) and I have a little bit of experience driving a High Lift truck (I think that's what its called) up to air planes as well as Emersons, NGSL's and extended boom forklifts. I've always enjoyed the ride ( except going through Virginia, too long) and have no problem driving all night ( 12 to 14 hrs to MD or NC). I'll soon turn 27, last I checked I had a clean driving record, no felonies, no drugs, no alcohol, pretty good health. So here I am looking to get into trucking, thought about tankers but, will give it more thought. The company that keeps coming up with the best reviews across different sites and seems to stand out the best is Schneider. So as of now that's the company I am setting my eye on, I know that I should keep in mind other companies as well.
Interested in the career

Good career choice, trucking. Schneider Bulk (tanker division) would be a good choice.
There's other good tanker companies that will hire you right out of CDL school. I'll list them & it wouldn't hurt to call any your interested in and ask which school they recommend. Some tanker companies hire from certain schools. Some websites may say "experience required" but ignore that. These listed will hire good applicants from certain schools. Probably both those schools you mentioned are OK.

Which company are you driving for now?
You asked about PTL; is that company on your radar? -

You can also receive GI bill payments while driving for the first year or year and a half, nothing wrong with a few bucks in your pocket.
