I recently stopped fueling at Pilot/Flying J because of their lies regarding the frequent rulers program. I stopped in to Loves in Lamar the other night and got fuel and went inside and bought a few things totaling 8.75. I was running my mouth as usual and engaging the cashier (Misty) and another customer and I also asked the cashier if she could sell me a couple of hundreds, which she did. About an hour down the road I got to thinking and after taking my money clip out and counting only 7 bucks, I realized that I didn't get the change back from my twenty back at Loves. I then called and explained what I discovered and said that I was sure that when she cashed out her drawer, she would find it to be over by 11.25. She took my name and number and said she would call me and let me know. Sure enough, about an hour later she called and confirmed and said that the money would be waiting for me when I came back through.
Now eleven bucks ain't gonna make me nor break me but she could have easily denied that her drawer had an overage and pocketed the money.
I'd like to tip my hat to a truly honest employee with old fashioned morals and to Loves for having this caliber of person on staff!
If you stop in there and happen to see her, please tell her that you heard about her!
Cudos to Loves, Lamar, Co.

Good story. Good news travels too slow. Thanks
Winkjr and blairandgretchen Thank this. -
There are some good people left in this world.
Big Duker Thanks this. -
That's always nice. I can very rarely fault the staff of truck stops - mainly the chains themselves.
Can I borrow $11.25, bro?!!!!Big Duker Thanks this. -
Np, have your people get hold of my people. Lol
blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
Actually, I thought about this one after I posted - I would be inclined to give her a fiver, or the whole lot, just for the honesty. It warms the ####les of me heart to see somebody do the right thing these days.
It certainly beats the little wench at the Jubitz the other month in the restaurant who stole my credit card details and went on a shopping spree - and I left her a good tip too. -
nice story
but i still hate lovesblairandgretchen Thanks this. -
It's a sad world where a story of an honest person is unusual. It does, however, give me hope.

loves was always my preferred stop, fuel price with company discount was the best, unlimited showers, unlimited refills of coffee, soda, with 1000 gallons a month. Rarely ran into the rude counter help.
And for you to take the time to tell about the honest clerk, thank you... they are out there, we just don't take the time to spread the word.
And some loves are within walking distance of a restaurant.blairandgretchen and Panhandle flash Thank this.
