This is my second year, just renewed and I never was required to attend a meeting. Good fuel card and it costs $250 to join.
You can't really go off the pump, price but rather they calculate the wholesale price and it goes up and down virtually everyday. They charge you a certain % over cost. Therefore the discounts are going to change as time unfolds. Just because the retail price doesn't move, the wholesale price does. It takes a little getting used to. I called Eric Lamb about the issue, so bear that in mind. The spread will change, but it's all to our advantage. I doubt if there's a better deal out there.
It's more of a bottom up price than a top down.
Whichever way, it's worth joining. You can access your account via Fleetone everyday and every transaction you do.
So you can see the discount on every fill up.

    TruckerDaisy and nofilter Thank this.

Discount is anywhere from 0.02 to 0.51 per gallon. It all depends on whether the stop was 'high margin' or 'low margin' to begin with. For instance, if one stop is 40c discount, and another is 2c discount, the better price may still have been the place only giving the 2c discount. New Jersey is usually a very high margin place for fuel. Meanwhile, Pennsylvania recently has been usually low margin. I get 40-50cpg in New Jersey, but PA is usually less than 10cpg.

Even in North Texas, where the price is low, even at the pump, I was getting 10+cpg off.

Discount here was .28/gal the last time I checked...it is very aggressive and through Fleet One I think.
If you show a LEASE AGREEMENT and are not an Independant o/o - I believe you do not have to attend the 1 day meeting in TN.

Can I load the card with money wired in from my bank? Actually going to deposit money would pose a problem for me being in Canada ... I am of the type I like to prepay the card once a month or so and roll that way ...

Not sure about the Canada thing. But, they can do weekly deductions up to your credit line (if you have good credit), or you can prepay. You can also make payments whenever you want to.

I've been a nastc member for 1.5 years. they have all the fuel prices listed on their website if you subscribe to their software. 100 bucks a month and 250 per year. Pays for itself and you get to use ta's and mom and pop's. if you pay attention to the prices on your routes and fuel cheapest you'll save more than .15 cpg on average in the long run. I highly recommend it.
Plus they offer some other things worth looking at too. Of course a sales pitch always makes you squirm, but I've found that they are worth every penny. (They don't require any other purchases for the fuel card fyi.)

You don't have to pay anything to access their fuel prices. You just subscribe to another service. The login for fuel prices is free. You just don't have access to any other programs or features.

The OOIDA card only cost $25 while the Nastc Card cost 250 every yr. How much of a difference is it in savings between these two cards?
