Update I leave training June 9th. I'm excited & have already been studying. I got few hundred bucks saved so I will be ok. How long does it take to get with an trainer after school?

When you finish school and have your CDL in hand, you'll go through orientation. You could get your trainer as soon as an hour after orientation. But hopefully, no more than a day or two.

You would be surprised. Most of them are relatively quiet. Then after awhile, you get so used to it that you have trouble sleeping without it.

    TigerBait Thanks this.

Switch unit from cycle sentry to continuous, then fall right asleep to what the new age science quacks call "white noise".

It's the start/stop crap that makes it hard to sleep with a reefer, not the engine itself.

As somebody that has never driven reefer there is always two things in my mind about it. Sleep and the other would be cleaning, that's got to be a pain.

    It's not.

I slept like a baby and cleaning out the trailer is as hard as handing someone your keys and paying them to detail and wash your car. Except it's easier because the company pays for it.

What about eating OTR? What are some good foods to stock up on?

    $5 bills.

$10 bills might come in handy too, if you want to splurge.

I generally grab a bite to eat from the attached fast food places. $5 goes a long way if you order off the dollar menu.
