UPDATE: The Florida Highway Patrol says 4 people have died as a result of an accident on Interstate 95. FHP says three of the victims died at the scene. The other died at the hospital.
FLAGLER, ST. JOHNS COUNTIES, Fla. Two Southbound stretches of Interstate 95 were closed Saturday night due to fatal crashes.
The first crash occurred just before 5:30 p.m. on I-95 Southbound at mile marker 288, Palm Coast Parkway. According to a our news partners WESH in Orlando, the crash killed two. Northbound traffic lanes re-opened just before 7:30 p.m., however Southbound lanes remained closed.
A second fatal crash occurred in St. Johns County on I-95 Southbound around 8:30 p.m., causing all Southbound lanes to be closed to traffic as emergency crews worked to put out a semi fire caused by the crash. Florida Highway Patrol anticipates the road closure will be in effect for several hours and are detouring motorists at mile marker 305 Southbound to SR-206 Eastbound to US-1 Southbound.
Crews with St. Johns County Fire Rescue responded to the scene and found two tractor trailers on fire along with several passenger vehicles. Sgt. Dylan Bryan with Florida Highway Patrol confirmed the crash involved two tractor trailers and a passenger car. The crash involved one of the tractor trailers and a passenger car and started a fire which spread to the second tractor trailer, according to Bryan.
One person was killed in the fiery crash, another was air lifted to UF Health Jacksonville in serious condition, while three others were taken to Flagler Hospital in stable condition.
Once the firefighters have given clearance, troopers will be able to access the vehicles on the scene of the crash and conduct a traffic accident investigation

That Florida stretch 0f I95 has got to be one of the worst in the country to drive on .It is really bad around the I10 to Orlando and Tampa. Please be safe out there. May God watch over you.
