You could still work 8.75 hours a day and not have a weekend. But, either way, the earnings drop.

Move to Texas and run intrastate TX hours of service and take a 34 hour whenever you #### well please. No 1 to 5 am reset.

LOL you just can't leave Texas.

To answer your question though. It won't be repealed. It will most likely only be replaced with a more stringent regulation.

The law screwed over the drivers while helping out the trucking companies pocket book.

I beg to disagree with most of the postings here. The requirement that a 34 hour restart has to include two 1 to 5 AM periods will be repealed. It is stupid as some of us have different sleeping patterns.

So how do you repeal it. You don't vote for anyone whose party has a donkey as a symbol. You also write to Congress and express your dismay. I am telling you that Congress pays attention to actual letters it gets. Not emails Not prefilled out notes but LETTERS.

Keep your responds on topic and polite but write.

Well, we can wait and see. You have a prediction date?

I think it will last till they make another more stringent rule.

So basically you and the company would lose 14 hours in that scenario. That's the point I was trying to make about the restart, though there are times it is not mandatory, in this scenario it *IS Mandatory.

I can see it, but think a bit further. What if you had taken a 34 and ran hard and now have no hours. Cannot take the 34 until the 168 hour rule from the start of the last one comes up. So, you could be in a position of not being able to get one.

Sorry, but voting for the elephant keeps the corporations in control, including in control of you, your work, and your life. I'm surprised you haven't figured that out yet.

Want sensible government and regulations? Vote for politicians that actually represent WE, THE PEOPLE, which includes YOU.
